    Prom help

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) Yeah, let's make sure this doesn't take a turn into where everyone's a dick. Oh yes.. heaven for bid people get treated like they treat others..
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 07:12 PM) So he would be facing a minor league team twice. Who cares? Apparently you don't.. so why bother to make a comment..? The point was that he was incorrect in the matchups.
  3. Ahhhh.. King Doable is back...
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) My 5-year old boy has simultaneously entered his superhero phase and his penis phase, and it's made for some fine entertainment. He and his older sister were playing superheroes the other day and he just out of the blue blurts out "The power of the universe is in my penis!" Needless to say, my wife assumes this is all my fault somehow... My Godson mortified me with a penis announcement in a movie theather many moons ago.. he had to go potty.. obviously I wasn't moving fast enough for him and he screams... "come on.. my PP is getting bigger... " I took him to the bathroom.. then took him home before the cops came to arrest me..
  5. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) So it sounds like he could probably be ready for opening day but that may be cutting it close. He may miss a start or two. From what I understand.. one person involved doesn't think he should miss any time...
  6. I just realized there is an updated thread about this already. Sorry.. I didn't see it before I posted this.
  7. This is what I was told.. Mark is fine and it's been a tab bit exaggerated. Small stress fracture (which I guess is not really a "real" fracture but a "bend" of the bone and not really a "crack" in the bone ) of the bone that joins the top of the foot to the toe. Little bit of discomfort, but he's walking fine today and it's not even swollen. Having more tests. From the look and feel of it today, doesn't look/feel at all serious. What happened... Mark was out catching balls and he just went to move to scoop up a ball and his foot kind of went sideways and he heard a little snap. Initially thought it was just dislocated because it swelled immediately and he literally could not put any pressure on it (which sounds like where they (reporters) got the torn ligament assumption - and is in line with what I heard last night). So.. sounds like he's going to be fine.

    Worst Feeling Evar

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) That's kinda wierd. With the sweating and sick stomach, it sounds like maybe you had a fainting spell. Exacty what I was going to say. A vasil vagal episode. It's when you do more than your body can handle - even thought you don't think so - and your body shuts down. Usually you puke first, then pass out for a brief moment - some people don't even realize they've passed out. Just long enough for your body to regain control. That's a variation of what happened to Jim. After all those tests they found nothing wrong that caused him to have that reaction and named it VV.
  9. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Does anyone know what the Sox did in the bottom of the first? Apparently they wet themselves...
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) And I don't see how anyone could disagree. However, someone who is a paraplegic, also needs assistance to eat and drink. Did you consider Christopher Reeves to be "on life support"? He could not feed himself. Good grief.. Christopher Reeve could communicate. And while Terry makes noise and appears to look at people when they talk to her.. there is no evidence that she has any ability to communicate nor any proof that she can remember things for more than 5 minutes as that part of her brain is liquid.
  11. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) For B Mac, is the old 'they've never seen him pitch before" any real advantage? Especially when you consider, it would only be for a few starts. No one would see him twice. Have you not seen the schedule..?? If this is the way it is.. he'll likely see Detroit, Minnesota, and KC twice.
  12. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) 4th - Garcia 6th - Contreras 7th - Hernandez 8th - Garland 9th - Garcia 10th - Contreras 11th - Hernandez Looks like Jose and El Duque would only go off 3 days rest in that scenario. Details, details... :rolly
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 09:04 AM) Hmm...didnt I just say that, OH WAIT 50 POSTS AGO??? I was quickly rebutted, saying the facts are already known.... :rolly Let it go.. it's not worth it.
  14. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) Steff they would not need a fifth starter until the 18th. they are off on the fifth and the 12th. they can go with a four man rotation on five days rest until the 18th. thats where I get it from. That's some interesting math you have there. There are 6 games without a day off from the 6th to the 11th... who's going to pitch on day 5 with a minimum of 4 days rest..? And might be a good idea to at least consider factoring in the weather.. maybe a rain delay here and there.. etc... Still logical to you to go with a 4 man..?
  15. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:59 AM) IMO, there is no concievable way we will go with a four man rotation when our biggest innings eater (245 last year) is injured...I dont care if we play five days a week every week for the entire month of April. You dont want to burn out El Duque in the first month of the year when he hasnt pitched a full season since 2001. Of course there isn't... IMO also, of course.
  16. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) Don't be so quick, they have days off the first two weeks, they would actually be working on five days rest. now think about it. They play 4/6 to 4/11, off on the 12, then 4/13 to 4/27 before another day off on 4/28. Where the hell do you get 5 days rest in there...???
  17. QUOTE Brandon McCarthy and Kevin Walker both had strong outings Sunday, reaffirming for manager Ozzie Guillen that he has too many quality pitchers to fit on his roster. :banghead
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:47 AM) Are there any better alternatives though? I guess the Sox have to decide if its worth to have short - term gain that could sacrifice some long - term gain. Nope. I know this is the only choice.. I just don't feel good about it.
  19. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) Both, my opinion was first and levine just said Bmac is now in the rotation. I am so glad I know baseball. Yes.. thank God. What would we do around here without your contributions..
  20. QUOTE(rangercal @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:44 AM) espn said, mcarthy is now in the rotation No offense to you Brandon.. but this is a mistake IMO.
  21. QUOTE(quickman @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) nope BMAC will come north and be the fifth pitcher. In my opiinion thats why he pitched 6 innings yesterday. they new this yesterday. So which is it.. your opinion.. or he is coming..?
  22. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) This is a great time to clarify what life support means. Some consider a ventilator "life support" this is a feeding tube. I would not disagree with anyone who calls this "life support" but I could see some people not necessarily meaning a feeding tube as life support. Without it, does she die... ? That's how I define LS.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Way to quickly hedge your bets, Bruce Yea.. no kidding. What a effing idiot. From someone that saw the incident, Mark went down in way more pain than if it was just a broken bone, FWIW.
  24. QUOTE(The Critic @ Mar 20, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) I try pretty hard not to s*** on others' musical taste, since I like a LOT of s*** that other people just shake their heads at. I used to be a lot worse at it, but again I think old(er) age is helping me not to take things so personally. When is the show, anyway? April 24th. I've followed them since waaaayyy back when they were nothing and before he married Marisol and seen them (MB20) at least 25 times. I'm more interested to see what Rob accomplishes on his own. He's extremely talented, IMO of course.
