True Blood
QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 03:44 PM) I guess it can be. I don't think so. I don't think so. Thinking about it, I agree. I bet you are right.

QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 03:05 PM) My wife and I both really dig the show, and we're bummed the season is almost over. We bacame big Alan ball fans with Six Feet Under, and I'm a life-long vampire junkie, so the combination was a good one. I believe they DID preview who the murderer was last night. . .

For those with kids who are Elmo nuts, Kohl's has Elmo Live online only for $60 right now. I think they are $80 at Toys-r-us.

True Blood
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) Im recommending this show to most of my friends. That was too neat for me. I think (hope) there will be more of a twist. But if not that's it.

QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 10:56 AM) I know mostly all women that LOVE that show, which is suprising because it seems to be pretty graphic. That's cause Jason is in all the graphic scenes. I agree, great show. Anyone have thoughts on the murderer...?

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) Sure I'm disgusted by it. I do think it's disgusting. Just like it's your opinion it's disgusting that I said what I did about Obama. Guess what? At the end, it's all the same. Attacking someone and attacking their words is not the same. I think many of the things you said were disgusting, but I don't think you are disgusting.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 12:12 PM) And I voiced my opinion that said opinion is in my opinion ridiculous. It's the same stuff that was posted for months about Obama and all we read is how ridiculous it all was. Where were you then for the respect speech? That's actually why I started the whole "RSO (Rock Star Obama)" thing, because he was/is untouchable, but I digress. By the way, I could care less that she's a she. Call it the Dan Quayle syndrome. It's the same damn thing, I b****ed about that 20 years ago, and I'm b****ing about this now, because I hate it when they destroy people over NOTHING. I don't care if she makes an idiot of herself and then gets thrown to the wolves on real issues, she has it coming then. I think what's even more funny is, we're saying the same thing and getting all hung up on the details of how it's being said. I'll cry uncle now. You've had a bit more than an opinion towards those you were "disgusted" with as they were "laughing and saying see" at her and you know it. I wasn't around this forum back then but if I was I would have surely said something. And for the record I thought that your RSO and a lot of the comments towards those that supported him were disgusting but that was their fight so I stayed out of it. How things are said is important, IMO.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:20 AM) Let's take a deep breath. This is, after all, the GOP thread. And all Kap is saying, as far as I can tell, is that he'd rather see her taken down on the issues. I happen to agree with you that she elected to play the country bumpkin aw shucks act up beyond reality, because she thought it would work. It didn't, and I'm glad. But some people will honestly not care about that one way or the other, and only care about her issue stands. Nothing wrong with that. And some care about the bs. Nothing wrong with that either. The respect needs to be both ways. That's all I'm saying.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:36 AM) Oh bloody hell. I have "strong feelings against her" as you put it. My post had nothing to do with "insulting" anyone. So what the hell is that remark for? Back to the issue, my only point continues to be this is the kind of stuff that's ridiculous on so many levels (she said Africa's a COUNTRY LOLERZ !@#$@#$^) when it's an outright lie specifically meant to smear her. How many times do I have to say I don't even like Sarah Palin, not at all, I think she's a terrible national politician (she may be fine for Alaska, and that's their choice), but it's asinine to have people in the media attack her like a rabid dog on things that are outright lies specifically meant to make her even more stupid then she already appears to be. I have no issue whatsoever that she gets ridiculed on her ignorance of real issues, not some fabricated made up bulls*** just to make a hit piece up on her. Can I make that any more plain? No. You are crystal on that point. Your disgust with those here has been vocal and clear. And since you choose to take the high road why don't you leave those that choose to take a different one alone as it's their right to have such opinion. That's all I am saying. As for the issue, you've been around a long time and this isn't the first time this type of behavior has taken place. Perhaps because she doesn't have a penis it's more out there, but this happens every day. What I find ridiculous is the "save Sarah from the rabid dogs" crusade. Sarah laid with the dogs of her own free will. And now the dogs are biting her. It's politics and she seems to be rising above it just fine.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 08:13 AM) And one is very different then the other. So what's your point? She drove the car with everyone in the carpool lane to her "I may be smart but most of the time I act and speak like a total moron and sound like one, too" party and you are angry at folks for finding some humor in that? If she was to be tore down you wanted it to be because of things related to the issues, which is what happened so who cares what the Bevis and Butthead (no offense lostfan) crowd thinks. At the very least I think it would be a good idea to stop backhandedly insulting posters here who had a strong feeling against her. JMO.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 16, 2008 -> 07:34 PM) There's a lot of people that want to see her fail. I do as well, but not like this. She needs to get mowed down on the issues, not superficial bulls*** like this. She got mowed down on every issue she opened her mouth about. This BS was simply icing on the cake.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) I did. I don't recall what I said in this forum exactly, but sorry, it was funny to be seeing people saying that whether it was true or not. And if she fails, that means the gimmick is over, and a real politician can take her place. I stand corrected. No surprise there's one in every crowd.

The Republican Thread
QUOTE (kapkomet @ Nov 15, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) And that is my point. But everyone is just so happy to see her fail. That's the part that pisses me off. And for the 10,000th time, I don't even like her. "Giddy" is not the same as embarrassed. Which is what Dems, and this Repub, here felt and posted about. I don't recall one person "laughing" about it. And I don't think anyone was happy to see her "fail". Time and time again Dems brought up how she was thrown to the wolves and set up to take the fall in the event of a loss.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) I threw her under the bus - which is where she belongs, politically speaking. And that has nothing to do with rumors - it was her behavior and words, right in front of my eyes. That.

The indoctrination starts already
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 10:17 PM) There is an ignore option if you don't like my posts. But I'll leave the thread, I have made my point, you are correct. If I didn't like them I would do just that. And you don't have to leave. But if you don't then I don't understand why you would question those who are simply responding to what you keep posting. It's circular for you because nothing new is being brought to the table.

The indoctrination starts already
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) There's already enough extra stuff students can do, the service requirement is not necessary. I think these schools need to concentrate on education judging from our national test scores. It's a dumb idea to be adding this stuff. Get the basics down first then try to convince me about this extra stuff. There are already plenty of extra curricular activities that students can do to build character. And honestly, I've already stated all this before in the thread. I don't see why this needs to be so circular. But yet you keep coming in here stating your position over and over again. Honestly, if you're so against it, and we've all read it and got it, then why not just pass over the thread and not continue to disrupt constructive conversation amongst others on the topic?

The indoctrination starts already
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) The details that were given about what would be considered acceptable charity work was vague. Examples were given with obvious charity work, but what I saw was worded as if the work would not be limited to these charity organizations. Who knows what the government approved work would be. I'm sure it would change with administrations, but then when college kids are getting grant money to work with Mormon charities on something like 'yes or proposition 8' in California, people would probably see why this type of stuff is inappropriate and not educational. Ahh, gotcha. It was a little less stinkey then I anticipated, but stinkey bs nontheless.

Season Ticket Upgrades
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 06:54 PM) That was what I thought too. But the way my new rep described it, those folks would be at the front of the line AFTER those who bought postseasons. Of course, I guess that's not really a "renewal" per se. According to the letter with postseason invoices it was pretty clear that if you didn't buy you lost your seats. As well, there's a wait list for several club sections and several LD reserve sections so I'm sure those folks get first pick after renewals who want to upgrade get their shot.

QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) Well I guess if this is additional grant money it isn't a burden. I see your point. The program is still terrible as far as I can tell. It accomplishes nothing, just another waste. If we are giving out grants it shouldn't be based on who works for some government approved charity/political operation. No thanks. Count me out. I'm not paying for this. But I'm a elitist jerk that thinks kids should be educated to a decent world standard; passing out flyers for 'rock the vote' doesn't help make our country stronger. Would you please provide the link to where it details the type of CS that you've posted as fact above. I'm interested in reading more about that. TIA.

The indoctrination starts already
QUOTE (mr_genius @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 06:41 PM) This program does nothign but put an additional burden on low income students. It's not educational as far as my standards are concerned. How does it put a burden on them? It RELIEVES some of the financial burden of their parents at the start, and themselves by not having to pay back a monetary, plus interest, loan.
