Surprisingly I did get a call back to tell me that an "announcement" was delayed.. then delayed again. Now I hear 5pm. But, IMO.. this is all bulls***. Kenny's probably going to announce a hangnail or something. I'm sorry I got everyone's hopes up.

I haven't heard any local media announce a "press conference" which is why I have doubts. I hope something is done. Tired of watching massacre after massacre!

I really hope the heads up is not in vain! I'm getting no confirmation from anyone with the Sox. The players are likely in their player meeting by now. Even if I leave a message on their cell phone they wont look at it till after the game. You have no idea how long I sat here and looked at the screen before I hit post new topic...

The Sox would not get involved in KW's personal matters

Only about 9-12 million was guaranteed. More than half of the money was tied to performance and incentives. Real fair contract to a guy who won 34 games for your Organization in one and one-half seasons. Thanks CK - some people forget that KW, MB, and Hahn had all agreed on a deal and then JR re-did it on his own at the last second and MB was justified in turning not something that was not what he had agreed to with the GM and ass't GM. Hey now.. I know the specifics of the deal. But what's better... $12 million guaranteed, or flipping burgers at Mickey D's after you throw your arm out..? Mark is an excellent pitcher.. he would have met the incentives no problem. It was loosing the year of FA that I heard was the deal breaker.

Guys.. please, please, PLEASE don't freak out on me if this does not happen. I'm only telling you what I was told. The media not being allowed in the clubhouse is VERY strange, especially in light of Frank's comments the other day. Again, this is NOT from anyone directly related to the Sox.

It is now confirmed. Press conference at 3:30. I was not told the details of what it was about, but I was told that the Sox clubhouse is OFF LIMITS to reporters as of right now.

With anyone directly related to the Sox because I can not get in touch with my player friends.. but there is "supposedly" a press conference scheduled for 3:30pm today. If it happens, great. If it doesn't :fyou in advance to all you that will give me grief about it.

2-6... Perhaps it was "fair". One thing I've learned over the years with pitchers.. you don't bite the hand that feeds you. Your next toss could be your last. I'm not saying anything negative, per se... but for Mark's sake I sure hope the decision not to sign doesn't come back to haunt him.

LOL.. no worries on this one southsider. I do know (have for 8 years now) Ray, Crystal, and the rest of his family personally and talk to him on a regular basis. Everyone knows that one.

I'm thinking that they want to see what the player has to say about himself. Kind of like a self evaluation? Perhaps "attitude" does have something to do with getting in..

Well.. this player has not yet even been on the ballot (and likely wont for several more years) and he received a request for a "letter". They asked him to comment on his accomplishments, contribution to the game, personal baseball related accomplishments, etc, etc.. I just thought it was odd.

Hmm.. small bank. While most banks are held to federal laws (the exception being some privately owned ones), some of the private ones get to make some of their own rules. I guess you suck it up. But that sucks!

Guys.. have you ever heard of a player being asked to submit an essay type thing when they "might" be considered for the HOF? Kind of like a "why I should be in" thing?
