White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/22/07 (L)
I'm liking what I see from Haeger so far.

White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/22/07 (L)
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 22, 2007 -> 03:40 PM) Truly underwhelming performance of GBA, which I'm sick of at baseball games. I was THINKING THE SAME THING. When did they start with this GBA thing? I can't remember when it started but I do remember thinking "Didn't we already sing the national anthem? Why the two-fer?"

Man this guy has an ERA of 0.95? !!! Wow.

White Sox vs. Red Sox, 7/22/07 (L)
Wow this just got interesting. Kinda. The "O" is heating up but then you think... bullpen has to finish this. Argh.

Well here we go with The Bullpen Has Eyes,, Part Deux. Two walks already. And pools on how many runs they give up today? I say five.

Brutal. This team is just unrecognizable to me. I watch this and think: is this really the same team, mostly, that was ours in 2005? Crazy.

Konerko into the DP. You know, I almost wish for a brawl, a punch, a beanball... ANYTHING to elicit some sort of emotion from this team.

He was pretty pissed with Fields not scoring on that single. With two more months of this kind of misery, I can only imagine what kind of fireworks we're going to be seeing from Hawk. Fathom: as I was sort of MIA during a lot of the Manuel years, was he not a fan of him, I take it?

You know what, I second that. That second crosstown was probably the most ugly thing I can remember ever being at as a Sox fan, and definitely was a dark sign for what the season was/was to become.

Why do I think that this Boston series is basically going to be the dirt of the grave of the 2007 season? Just ugly.

Man how many pitches is he at now? This isn't good.

Contreras
Does anybody truly believe at this point that Contreras is not hurt?

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
Beating Boston is always a great feeling. Nice job all around.

And thats a White Sox loser !
I agree with Mack as leadoff. Did anybody catch the Saturday Twins/Sox game here on FOX? With Ryne Sandberg in the booth? He had some interesting things to say about Terrero: big, strong guy; multi-tool player, lots of potential. Problem was, he all but said that Terrero was the definition of a guy who looks good ability-wise but will never be able to put it together and be a great player. I guess he knew him from Arizona. We seem to have a gift for acquiring players that are all potential but never realize it (hello, AAAnderson). What's so frustrating is that the starters have been great this year; Vasquez is proving his worth, Danks was a lucky find (okay Contreras is on his last legs)... but our offense and bullpen keep screwing them.

The Greg Walker Lynch mob thread
LOL! I love this thread. Everytime we lose miserably while scoring no runs, I know it will be there. Like a warm blankey. The hitting of late reminds me of 2004. We score 11 runs, or none. Oof. I know I'll get killed for this, but I miss smallball/Ozzieball/smartball/it-wasn't-smallball-'cause-we-hit-homers/whatever. Four, three runs a game was fine with me when it still meant a win.

Mark Cuban + Chicago Cubs =
Too bad, too, because as much as I despise the Cubs I've told my Cub fan co-worker for years: you guys need a Mark Cuban-like owner. You're right: Selig-zilla will never allow it to happen. And JR doesn't like him either.

AND THATS A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Man this is going to be a long second half with this bullpen. Talk about ruining what was a great start to the second half. Vintage Garland, bats roaring... and then they give up five runs? I said to my mom last night "I'd hate to be Ozzie." Can you imagine having to pick up that phone and just dreading it?

Pujols calls out LaRussa for not playing him
Interesting take on the whole Pujols thing from MSNBC: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19709676/

Ichiro deserves his own thread
I love Ichiro, and that ITP homer was badass. I'd think some of his goofy quotes are due to translation being at a loss. If you speak two languages, you realize that attempting to translate english/whatever and back, you can't do it literally and have it make sense. That said, Seattle's got him. He ain't comin to the South Side. Forget it. Too bad; that was my dream for 2008. Oh well! What a character though!

Would You Care if We Started Over?
Ouch. You gotta do what you gotta do! Fine by me.

Mark Buehrle Agrees to 4-yr, 56 mil with escalator clause
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST NEWS ALL YEAR. KW I take back everything I said about ya. ok maybe not EVERYthing...
-
Buehrle Fest
I've had it with KW and his bulls***, I really have. I think we've all been had with this PR dance. I also think that the way we treat players sends a message to those considering ever playing here. and oh boy I can't wait to see what we get in return.
-
Buehrle Fest
Good gawd the idea of Buehrle being dealt to TAMPA BAY? Hellish, for us AND him. I'm feeling a lot more optimistic about this deal happening of late. I wish they would just do it so we can all move on. I don't think I"ve ever seen a 100 page thread here before, LOL...

KW Speaks about Buehrle's NTC
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jul 3, 2007 -> 09:00 AM) Eggggggggggggggggggggggstactly... now some people are starting to get it (not implying that you didn't fathom, just making the point). You know I'm starting to think there's something to this. In that, it seems like KW/Buehrle genuinely like each other and they almost both know he's gonna stay, but perhaps they're using the media to negotiate by floating their terms out there. Also known as a "stalking horse" or "trial balloon." Just a theory. But it all does seem a bit odd, doesn't it?

Now it's limited no-trade?
AND not having to explain to people in the outfield that, no, you DON'T throw the ball back that's a CUBS thing, idiot...
