  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) The only name on last years 25 man roster that has a chance of being moved is Marte, other than that expect KW to sit on his thumbs during the meetings. I agree, although I think that El Duque also has a shot at being moved.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) What do you think? There is no dominant player this year like Ray Lewis was a couple years ago or Strahan. Two words: Brian Urlacher.
  3. This is a non-issue to me, not sure why I would be concerned.
  4. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) KC might do that. what do they have to lose? $45 million dollars if they did that deal..
  5. Its dependant on two questions in my mind: Would Loretta be willing to not start? How much would it take to get him? If he's willing to be a "super-sub", and isn't too difficult to get, then yea, I'd be fine with him being on the Sox. His defense is supposedly pretty good over at 2b, and he's been a pretty good hitter. If his contract is ~$3 million like you said, he'd be a cheaper option than Mueller, depending on what we would have to give up for him.
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 12:20 AM) Furcal won't get hurt anyways so I don't think the insurance is going to be necessary later You have a magic crystal ball? Anything can happen.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) He's out with an injury, probably until mid June. Jeff Kent is signed for 2006 only so they could let him go or move him to 1B and let Izurtis play 2B. Bingo. http://www.latimes.com/sports/baseball/mlb...&track=morenews
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 07:35 PM) It's a rumor from Rogers. Doesn't mean it's happening. Never said it was. I said it was a rumor, nothing more.
  9. You put your best hitter third. Iguchi is not our best hitter, even if he does put up numbers like he did in Japan.
  10. Zito is rumored to be headed to Chicago.. but not the south side. Supposedly, according to Phil Rogers on the Score, Zito and Mench are headed to the Cubs, while the Rangers are getting Kerry Wood, Todd Walker, and cash, and the Athletics are getting Soriano and prospects. A friend of mine told me this, but I didn't hear it for myself, hence the "supposedly"
  11. Bears 17 Packers 3 So I guess the answer is 2.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) because he won't be playing center field next year. Nope, but he should be given a shot at the job if Owens is getting one.
  13. And another article which doesn't mention Chris Young as a possible CF next year :|
  14. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) YES!!!! THank goodness. Juan Pierre would have been a terrible fit. Thank you Yankees!!!!! seconded (actually, thirded I guess, since fathom agreed with you too)
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 2, 2005 -> 02:03 PM) http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=53976 I really feel bad for the Fish fans right now. Yes, I know, they have no fans that support them, but this group of a couple thousand do support them, and live and die by the Fish just like we do for the Sox. Same here. I mean, I felt like s*** when Rowand left here.. I can't even imagine how the Marlin fans feel with just about everyone on their team leaving.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) I do believe Bonds has some Gold-Gloves and he surely is NOT a liability in the field, even at his age. Yea, I thought that too, but given his age and knee's, I dont think he would still be considered capable in the outfield anymore.
  17. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:32 PM) either you are correcting my spelling or i dont know what the hell you mean QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) manny is the worst outfeilder in the game besides bonds. i wouldnt want him on the sox under any circumstances (exception: if we traded places with KC i probably would) If you are talking about their skill as an overall baseball player, then you are far from being right. If you are talking about their fielding, you are close to being right, although I think there are likely some worse ones (Carl Everett comes to mind). If you are talking about their personalities, then yes, both Bonds and Manny are among the league's biggest jackasses in the outfield.
  18. QUOTE(timotime @ Dec 1, 2005 -> 07:25 PM) manny is the worst outfeilder in the game besides bonds. i wouldnt want him on the sox under any circumstances (exception: if we traded places with KC i probably would) If you aren't talking about fielding, then you must be talking about someone else.
  19. I wouldn't even do Anderson for Pierre.. let along Anderson, Borchard and Marte for him.. Am I the only one who thinks this?
  20. 40(M), 44(L), 48(XL), 52(XXL), 56(XXXL), 58(XXX1/2L), 60(XXXXL) I'm 6'3", and wear a 48
  21. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) Pierre is a maybe guy because of one down year, a year in which he still hit a solid .276 and finished second in the NL in stolen bases and triples? I think not. Pierre has more than proven himself. Rowand hit .270 last year. Do you think he had a good offensive year?
  22. QUOTE(KeithFranklin @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) Who proofed that poll. Hasnt Howry and Wagner already signed elsewhere? The question was used in another Sportsnation poll a long time ago, and I guess they just copied and pasted it. Pretty lazy of them if you ask me
  23. They are going to sign as many relievers for as much money as they can.
