Don't worry, we'll trade for him again before the deadline (note how there is no green..)

QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 02:54 PM) Because, you need to stay young and lower salaried to be a consistantly winning franchise. Yes, but having 6 starters doesn't make sense unless one is already in a deal to be traded (as you suggested with Contreras and Marte to Philly/Florida)

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) Would anyone trade A-row for sheffield to DH? Im not even sure if Sheff isnt a FA, just a question. No, mainly because I hate Sheffield more than almost any player in the league. QUOTE(knightni @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) I'd still do a Rowand for Wang trade with the Yankees. Why do we need more pitching? Unless you want to trade one of our then 6 starters for a big bat, it would make no sense to trade one of the best defenders in CF for *another* starter.

The AL West thing is just idiotic, but at least a decent amount of Sox got mentioned in this thing. I mean, both Cotts and Politte are mentioned as setup men, Gooch for ROY, Ozzie for Manager of the Year, Mark Buehrle for starter of the year, and the Rally Crede for Play of the Year.

QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 05:26 PM) Bad defense means weak arm right? Does rowand have bad defense because of the s*** arm he had shown all last year? Pierre would be our second best outfielder. You kidding? Pierre would be the worst defender in just about any outfielder (maybe, just maybe, Damon would be lower than him)

I had nothing wrong with The Cell when I went earlier this year, but then again, that was probably because I was 8 rows up from the dugout, so even if the stadium sucked, I wouldn't notice it.

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) Camden is really cool looking. Good place to see a game. Amazing park.
-
And naturally, none of this will be on over here in Jersey

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Nov 16, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) I wonder if Willie Harris will be traded. Ozuna can play 2nd base, 3rd base, and shortstop. He also played LF, RF and 1B this year.

Shea was horrible last time I went there (a few years ago)

Takes no time for me.

Pablo is a great bench guy to have, good decision to resign him.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) Marte for Delgado, take it or leave it, Florida. Sounds good, lets do it.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:11 PM) we would've made the playoffs because our pitching was so good. When we were at our best Paulie was going through an awful slump. He was a non-factor the first 2 months. He actually had an OPS around .800 in the first two months, which, while its not amazing, is far from being a non-factor. Yes, he was a much better player for the rest of the year, but he wasn't a non-factor in the first few months. He carried our offense this year, and if you don't agree with that, I just won't waste my breath (or hands, whichever it is..)

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) did i ever mention Scott Rolen? No, you didn't. Which is the point.
-
QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) Maybe I'm confused by what you were trying to say but Paulie's postseason has nothing to do with a vote that takes place near the first of October. So Vlad's lack of success or Pujols success shoul be eliminated from your mind when deciding. I think Pujols deserved the award plus its sort of a nice thing for a guy who would have won it in any of the last five years if he weren't in the league with Barry Bonds Yea, I know that the postseason isn't thought of when thinking of MVP, but without Paulie, we wouldn't have made the playoffs in the first place.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Reggie Sanders and Jim Edmonds I also forgot Larry Walker. Walker, Sanders, Edmonds, and Rolen were 4 of the top 6 producers for the Cardinals in 2004.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Reggie Sanders and Jim Edmonds Scott Rolen? Also, the Astros had a better pitching staff.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) here is the difference. Jones carried that team through all it's injuries. Paul Konerko didn't carry the team. The Pitching Staff did. The Cardinals were injury plauged the entire year, and a pitching staff can do wonders, but it still needs runs to win games.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:34 PM) Because his stats weren't as good as A-Rod's. And Andrew Jones' stats werent as good as Albert Pujols'.
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 09:27 PM) i thought Hafner should've won it if the Indians did win the Wild Card. However I thought Ortiz should've won it. But that doesn't really answer my question. That just is who you think should have won it, not why Konerko didn't win it. (using your way of thinking for the MVP)
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 05:21 PM) I agree Pujols is great and probably the best player in the NL however that is not what this award is about. It is about which player did the most for his team and IMHO Jones fits that category. Nothing against Pujols. So why didn't Konerko win it for the AL? He carried the White Sox offense to a World Series title..
-
I'm as big a fan of the two as any, but A-Row and Pods had a collective OPS in the low .700's. Thats not really productive. They did well in their spots in the lineup, which is more important imo, but they weren't that productive as offensive players.
-
QUOTE(TheBigHurt @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Mike Piazza as a backup catcher? We already have one..
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 15, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) Not the south side of Chicago. Yea, sorry for not being specific
