QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 08:04 AM) Shouldn't you be busy figuring out how we are going to blow opening day?
-
In any season in which Frank has had more than 105 AB's, he has posted a ridiculusly high OBP, and if he can just get on base with someone like Konerko after him, run production will go up. And if Frank can hit 12 HR's in 105 AB's while having one good leg, I'm pretty sure he can do just as good, if not better, with two healthy ones. And again, we shouldnt go into next year with Thomas as our only DH choice. That would be downright foolish. But we should give him a shot to prove he can still hit, as he did prove in his brief stint this year. And if all else fails, we can trade for Carl at the trading deadline again.

Rumor: AL Playoff OF tests positive for steroids

QUOTE(Felix @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) So its someone from Boston or New York. I dont think Chicago has anything to worry about. I called it -
oh.. I didn't know posting a .905 OPS in the limited playing time you got was good. Compare that to Carl's last year (or this year, whichever you want to refer to it as). We shouldn't have Frank and no backup plan, but I dont think there is a doubt in my mind as to whether or not we should bring him back.

QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) I know people are gonna say "who f***ing cares" but guys...ONE WEEK after we win the world series ESPN can't wait to get a poll up there saying we're number 2. Thats exactly what I thought when I saw it on EPSN's MLB page

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) I came back from classes to an email from a friend with this exact quote in it. My first reaction was to laugh, then I felt relieved. Matt Lawton...significant? same here -
QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) Go Jazz! I'll second that. My aunt is the VP for a company that handles the Jazz and the media also, Deron Williams

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Unfortunately for Brewers fans, Aaron Rowand's second half OPS > Carlos Lee's second half OPS ahahahahaha I didnt notice that
-
QUOTE(mr_genius @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) what, did you think the awards criteria was that of "who catches the ball best"? Who knows?
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) It's a judgement of a player's overall defense. It's called a "Gold Glove" award because of Rawlings. ah, alright. That makes sense
-
This is a pretty stupid question, but is a player's arm even included in the gold glove? I mean, it *is* called the gold glove, not the gold arm, but I dont really know :|
-
...sigh Sixers lost It's going to be a long year for me and basketball..
-
I think Frank Thomas should get a gold glove.
-
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Is there ever going to be a year when Derek Jeter DOESN'T win a Gold Glove while he's playing? Seriously? Yea.. the first 8 years of his career.
-
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Because, it wasnt a bad step, or a bad hit. His ACL just snapped out of almost nowhere. If that is indicative of the rest of his ligaments, he might not last long in the NFL. Turf = suck
-
The reason I had hope that arow would win one was because of the Yankees series. People learned his name (even though they still called him Rowland), and I guess I got some false hope that he would win one.
-
sadly, it won't be on here in NJ.
-
The players and managers are morons.
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Kurkjian agrees that Aaron Rowand fans (me), have a right to be upset and I agree. Yet I'm really not upset. I thought players who actually played in the games got these awards, but with seeing that Hunter got it this year, I guess not. Also, your sig is amazing.
-
wait.. this has to be a joke. HUNTER?!

QUOTE(WSFAN35 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:41 PM) what numbers might those be? http://www.tangotiger.net/UZR0003.html (those are from 2000-2003, I know) http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/measuring-range/ (one of the worst with that rating) There are others as well, I cant find the links right now, and I have to go to work in 4 minutes, so I'll post them later tonight when I get the links.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Jeter is probably the 4th best defensive ss in the al. According to numbers, he's the worst, and has been for awhile now.
-
QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) rowand crede uribe ajp buehrle / garland if one of them doesnt make it i will be pist . AJ has no shot. Uribe has no shot since they already said Jeter won it (although he should have won it). Crede is extremely unlikely because A-Rod plays in New York. And Buehrle/Garland likely won't win it, but should. I think Rowand will win one though.

Felix replied to SouthSidePride05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sure, they'll invite them to the White House. Not sure if it will be Bush's doing though.. I mean.. he is from Texas..
