    Kick-Ass was... well... kick ass.
  2. QUOTE (DonkeyKongerko @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) Yeah, stats may indicate that. But let us not forget what happened to Paulie last time he entered the derby. Not to mention the first half of the following season That's what I call some damn good logic right there. Sure, the numbers say one thing, but last time PAULIE did it, he sucked for a whole year!!!!1
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) Milk's response, while clearly intended to be sarcasm, as well as humorous, was inappropriate in the context of the message Mike had just posted and myself, as well as others, felt it should be responded to. Knight took it upon himself to offer Milk a friendly warning that his post was inappropriate. Jesus christ, are you kidding me? Has Soxtalk suddenly transformed into communist Russia where people can't even make a damned joke without getting lectured? You said yourself it was clearly intended to be sarcastic and humorous, so again, what's the problem? This is a message board. Stop pretending it's some big time stuffy business where posters that know each other can't even joke around with one another. Seriously, get a sense of humor... you take yourself way too seriously.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 02:24 PM) Didn't you wish it was longer though? No. 90 minutes was a perfect runtime for it. I'm sick of movies over staying their welcome.
  5. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jul 10, 2010 -> 12:28 PM) I wonder what the deal is with Haren. He's on pace for a career worst (full) season in terms of WHIP, ERA, HRs given up, etc. It appears his velocity is down only slightly from last season, but also has been on a steady decline the last 4 years. His peripherals still look fine though. Amazing what a .346 BABIP does to you.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 09:59 PM) This can't be said enough. He throws lasers from third. Accuracy isn't a strength from what I've seen.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 10:54 PM) I hate stats
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 09:23 PM) Why would I kid? He'd look pretty good slotted behind Freddy. Dude makes way too much money to play for the Marlins and that team sucks anyway so I say we send Jordan Danks, Retherford, Nunez and Jeff Marquez to Florida and pay the rest of his salary. They get plenty of good, cheap young talent and we get a pretty good starting pitcher for the stretch run. We're happy, Loria's happy. Everyone's happy. I think we'd probably have to throw in Randy Williams. I can't see the Marlins saying no to that deal, as constructed.

  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) How about "Lillibridge" why does every s***ty player that comes through town need to get a nickname? It also doesn't f***ing count if you're brainstorming nicknames, it needs to be an organic process that develops over time. Thinking up a "good one" for a player defeats the purpose entirely. Why are you such a hater?
  11. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 9, 2010 -> 10:31 AM) I imagine they'll probably trade Flynn now that it looks like Rubio's definitely going to come over. If they can trade Jefferson for a good SG, I like the makeup of that team quite a bit actually. Fully agreed on both counts. There were talks of trading Flynn to the Cavs, although I don't know what we'd get back from them. However, if we trade Jefferson for nothing but cap room, I'm going livid. We have a major hole at SG right now, unless we really want to count on Corey Brewer's inconsistent shooting (although he took major steps forward last year). I also still would have much prefered Cousins to Johnson, although Wes is more NBA ready and fills a definite hole we had. Lower ceiling, but more likely to reach it.

QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 10:07 PM) I just saw an episode where they are going to a university on Mars and Fry acts like he has never been there and they can breathe oxygen, when they had been there in the past because Amy's parents live there. Mathematics of wonton burrito meals! Also, that episode is first season
  14. I haven't read the last 100 pages or so, but this needs to be posted if it hasn't already: http://www.nba.com/cavaliers/news/gilbert_letter_100708.html Apologies if it's already been posted. Ok, yeah, it was posted. But it's good enough to be posted again.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) That one was absolutely awesome. Fully agreed. It was classic Futurama. And yeah, I don't really know what you're talking about ignoring the past episodes.

  17. Damn, I could have sworn the billboard would have convinced him that Chicago was the best place for him.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 12:02 PM) Yeah I know you can't do it. But it just takes a lot of restraint to say no to that one right now. No, it really doesn't.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 02:32 AM) I'm hoping that Hud The Stud can be at least as good as Freddy or Buehrle have been. just quit
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 05:53 PM) It's Cleveland. Exactly. Why would he stay there? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZzgAjjuqZM These videos never get old and are very appropriate.
  21. I guess I'm strange for liking how the Spanish play. Lots of good passing, although they played fairly selfishly down the stretch today.
  22. Spain/Netherlands in the finals. Should be a good one.
  23. Spain finally gets into the back of the net on a nice corner and header. 1-0 in the 73rd minute.
  24. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 7, 2010 -> 01:31 PM) As for the Wolves, they really need a legit 2-guard as all of their perimeter players are either point guards or small forwards right now. A solid center would also help. But we've got Darko!!!!1 Really, I think the biggest need is a 2-guard that can actually shoot the damned ball. Although Corey Brewer took some big steps forward last year with his shooting, he's likely better suited as energy off the bench. A defensive big man down low would be also be nice, although I think we're probably going to head into next year with Darko and Pekovic at the 5. We need another big man for the rotation assuming we trade Jefferson, but that doesn't change the fact that a guard is our biggest weakness right now.
