QUOTE (SuperSteve @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:04 AM) So the question we had at work was do they get food breaks or is it constant playing? I'm sure they get bathroom breaks. What about the ballboys and ballgirls, are they rotated? (Sorry couldn't watch yesterday cause work) They generally eat energy bars inbetween games, but they don't get more time to eat. They do get bathroom breaks. I think ballboys and girls are rotated, as are the line judges. The line judges change every 45 minutes (I think), which has caused some controversy in the past with lines changing on players. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 10:03 AM) Because they don't keep score or anything... Totally, because RBIs are completely dependent on the player at bat and no one else on the team. Did anyone actually read what he said? He didn't say they were meaningless, he said they were overrated. Do you actually think RBIs are a good way of judging an individual players talent? Even if you're the best player in baseball, if no one is on base in front of you, you won't rack up high RBI totals. Obviously better players create more run producing situations, but without teammates that get on base, it doesn't matter how good a hitter you are.. you aren't going to get a lot of RBIs. There are much better metrics for evaluating an individual that take the team's impact out of the equation.

If the ball isn't within walking range of Isner, he's not going to reach it. This is hilarious. -

This has been ridiculous. I've been watching since 31-31, and I feel like it's been going on for an eternity. GO ISNER! -
QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Jun 22, 2010 -> 01:30 PM) Am I the only one who thinks Summer Shandy sucks? No, I think most Leinie's beers suck. Most of my roommates are from Chippewa Falls, where Leinenkugels is brewed, and it's heresy to speak ill of any of their beers. I've been drinking a lot of whiskey as of late. Might not be too summery (exclusively at least), but I've certainly enjoyed the Johnny Black, Wild Turkey and Jameson bottles I've had.

We've re-created a game that was cool in 1992, with graphics almost identical! AND YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LOVE IT IN 2010! The novelty will wear off in 5 seconds, and then you'll realize why NBA Street was such a vast step up from NBA Jam. The preying on gamer's memories era is hilarious, because it's getting people excited about this garbage. NBA Jam >>>>> NBA Street

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 25, 2010 -> 07:56 PM) Since I can't ever catch them when they air: This American LIfe Wait Wait Don't Tell me All songs considered Prairie home companion are my things. I'm not that into Podcasts, but my dad linked me to their discussion for the best opening tracks ever, and I really enjoyed it. I might start listening to it on a regular basis.. seems really quality.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 20, 2010 -> 03:50 PM) We're averaging 4.3 runs per game. Something about those numbers isn't right. That's because the numbers aren't right. Buehrle: 4.1 Danks: 4.3 Floyd: 3.4 Garcia: 5.3 Peavy: 4.6 http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CH...-pitching.shtml Even if you go by RS/IP, they still aren't the right ones. I don't know where they came from. Buehrle: 4.2 Danks: 4.5 Floyd: 2.8 Garcia: 5.5 Peavy: 4.8

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 10:30 PM) I know the NL supposedly sucks, but every day I add it up and usually the AL only wins one or two more games per night. If the NL sucks so bad, why isn't the AL winning 75 percent of the games in interleague? You realize that the NL teams we have played (Pirates, Cubs, Nationals) are all in the lower tier of the NL, right? There are certainly NL teams that are good, and it'd be foolish to expect a .750 winning percentage from the AL, even if it's the superior league.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 18, 2010 -> 02:28 PM) There's a good chance I won't be leaving the house on Sunday, then. Looks like it's 8 episodes in a row from 8 PM to midnight on Sunday. So not quite a marathon, but a good way to get into the Futurama mood And yeah, Benders Game was awesome. Easily the best of the movies IMO.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 09:00 PM) Felix, one week! I think Comedy Central is having a marathon on Sunday, which should be a good way of preparing for the new episodes QUOTE (3E8 @ Jun 17, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) Breaking Bad makes Lost seem like a pile of puke Lots of shows do that

I'm not even rooting for the US here, but what the f*** was that? It should be 3-2 right now.

I built a new computer yesterday, pretty happy with the results. Haven't had time to game too much yet, but it runs L4D2 awesomely. I'll probably try out MW2 at some point tonight, assuming the download finishes. CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Mobo: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO RAM: 4 GB DDR3 1600 GFX: XFX Radeon HD 5770 My old machine served my purposes well, but the motherboard started to crap out and became incredibly unstable. Needless to say, it's nice to have a new machine

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) How so? Michigan vs Notre Dame 1887 Cincy v Miami 1888 Army v Navy 1890 Minny v Wisco 1890 And thats just D1. In all of college football: Harvard v Yale 1875 Lafayette v Lehigh 1884 Amherst v Williams 1884 DePauw v Wabash 1890 I believe its one of the most played, but certainly not the oldest. Sorry, I must have confused oldest with most played. That being said, here's what Wikipedia says about Paul Bunyan's Axe: Of course, it's certainly possible that it's wrong, but really, that's just semantics. You can't split the two teams up into two different Big 10 divisions.. it makes no sense whatsoever. -

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 15, 2010 -> 12:24 PM) Cleveland Plain Dealer's suggestion on splitting the Big Ten (12) into two divisions: IMO, the "Black" division is a much harder road. But its as even as possible. If that were to happen, I would hope Minnesota and Wisconsin would be in the same division, considering it's the oldest rivalry in college sports.
