QUOTE(BearSox @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 09:25 PM) so, on fridays will he replace one of the two or just join them? EDIT: Also, Stoney has it pretty damn sweet. Joins. 3 man booth.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 05:05 PM) uh oh. I wonder if they'll prosecute. Stupidly written law though. By that law, when they were 18 and 15, it was OK... but now at 19 and 16, its not. Illinois actually has something similar.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) Yes they are about the same age. One however is a hell of a lot more senile than the other. I cannot remember Stoney screaming at the top of his lungs when a fly ball makes it past the SS. You can put it on the .....oh daggumit no. Stoney will also bring a sense of objectivity. I don't think we will hear Stoney every say he thinks that position by position that his players are better than the rest of baseball. I don't think that Stoney will automatically blame the umps, the wind, global warming or another other non-baseball reason for the team sucking or a player not executing. Hawk is quickly becoming Santo on the southside. I have liked Hawk, but he has gotten worse over the years and has become weirder and more homerish if that was possible. I would trade the entire broadcast team for Stoney, and could hire anyone to sit with him and it would be better than the product we have today. The bold part I agree with. As for the rest, I really don't think Hawk would act that way with a guy in the booth that he respects and will tell him when he's wrong. BTW, that's exactly what Stone did when he was on with Hawk. I used to think DJ was getting better, but I don't know anymore. I don't think he brings anything interesting to the broadcast to actually tell fans something about the game.

QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 02:08 PM) Jamie-Lynn's BF is 19. Are there statutory rape implications here? Here's the Louisianna statute.

Looks awesome. Not really sure I have the balls to do that to be honest. Especially that close to those rocks. Nice avy.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 19, 2007 -> 03:11 PM) DJ and Chris are fine. Farmer is the problem. If DJ was fine, the broadcasts with Hawk and Stone would not have sounded so great in comparison. And if Singleton was fine, it wouldn't take him 10 minutes to spit a sentence out. I'll give Singleton another season to improve, but I don't care much for him. Farmer is not a great play-by-play guy, but it might be easier on him if he could concentrate on calling the game and not making Singleton talk. In any event, Stone will help the booth.
-
Great news. I'm going to hope that this means the beginning of the end of either Singleton or Jackson in the coming years. Don't try to talk sense into me.

Well I'm finally done for the semester. 3 weeks of finals for 5 classes. These grades should be interesting. Not necessarily good, but interesting.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 18, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) My best friend just let me know he got engaged. I suddenly feel a lot older right now. In the last couple of years a friend and both brothers got married, and one of my brothers is having a kid. Another friend is having a child but he ain't married. So yeah, I know what you mean.

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 17, 2007 -> 03:29 PM) You know, I was just thinking to myself this morning... if only someone would tell me something like this today in it's own thread. I'd be so happy. I'm actually impressed. Despite the topic name there is nothing in there specifically regarding either spring training or trades. And now I await a "What else are we supposed to talk about?" post.

Behind every hot woman, there's a guy that tired of [sleeping with] her.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 04:32 PM) Please for God's sake someone ask Selig how Bonds could possibly have learned of a steroid test in advance. From what I'm hearing from him, I'll answer for him. "We didn't know. Somebody must have been telling Barry when the tests were taking place. But that is in the past, and we have to move forward."
-
QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) What did he say about HGH? Something about testing? MLB and NFL are funding to find a urine test, and there will be an HGH summit to find new ideas to detect the substance.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) Really? Wow. I haven't read them yet, anyone know off hand what the big ones are? I'm not certain but he said some are subject to collective bargaining. But at least he will put the union on the hot seat.

Discipline on a case by case basis.
-
Selig is adopting all the recommendations.
-
QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) This whole thing is a fluff piece IMHO that will not be used to do anything other then an MLB CYA with Congress and a tool to try and get as much testing through the MLBPA as possible. I said before that Mitchell's speech was CYA for Selig because it gives him an out to do nothing. We will find out soon what Selig will do.

According to ESPN, Brian Roberts has been smeared and the allegations are hearsay. Ok.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 02:39 PM) Cubs were a pharmacy. The Cubs, Red Sox, and Yankees do not look good in this in proportion to other teams. Not to mention Giants and A's.

QUOTE(Brian @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 02:36 PM) I'm gonna pretend that Wood and Prior are still on the list. I think the previous fake reports were more interesting.

ESPN feed seems to be hijacked.

QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 02:26 PM) When Cameron hit those HR off Parque it was JUICE against JUICE And Parque hadn't begun yet.
-
In the report. Shocking that he was non-tendered...beyond the injury I guess
-
Nothing is going to happen to anyone. Bonds will be in jail anyway. This is CYA for Selig.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 13, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) Huh? Are you watching the news conference? Mitchell just said they should forgo discipline unless the commissioner deemed the use to be so egregious to merit discipline.
