  1. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Feb 27, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) Wouldn't this cause a huge scheduling problem? In order to have a nice homestand, the other team would have to have an extra long road trip. I could be wrong about this, but I think it's rare that the Sox and Cubs are both at home at the same time. Teams have a couple long home stands and road trips, so I don't think it would be a huge deal. I'd be more worried about the field. They'd be using it everyday for the whole season.
  2. I just saw on Fox News that they are demolishing the building the shooting took place in. Sounded like they building a new one called "Memorial Hall."

    Too Hot To Fly!

Isn't this the rock bottom of discrimination excuses? When, in this country, have people not been polite and done whatever possible for good looking, young women? And I've been on flights with tools and nobody says anything, er I don't think they do. I doubt the airline wants to take the heat if they don't have to.

    Suits

QUOTE(farmteam @ Feb 26, 2008 -> 09:30 PM) I'll need to get one or two soon. How much should a cheaper one cost me? Honestly a decent one will last a long time. Around $250 or so will get a decent suit at Macy's. I got a Ralph Lauren for $250 (on sale, but they always seem to be on sale) at Macys and it's pretty nice and will last 10 years...if I fit into it that long from now. Obviously you could go to S&K and get 2 $75 suits, but they will wrinkle like hell and feel like sand paper. Don't bother.
  5. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 05:24 PM) Yeah, I don't understand how baldy people type when they're drunk. It almost seems like they're exaggerating on purpose. I can be black-out drunk, and still write coherently. This I know for a fact. If I was so drunk as to type that poorly, I don't think I'd be able to sit at a computer. I'd probably have my head in a toilet.
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) Oh, I guess I was understanding the quote wrong. I thought he meant they would be playing a lot during the season, not ST. I am all for them playing everyday during ST. My bad. Well, looking at it again, I might be wrong, but I still think they are trying to spin the Uribe situation for a trade.
  7. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Feb 24, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) So, Uribe and Crede both will be playing a lot? So will Owens? God, Ozzie will never learn.. Crede and Uribe have to play enough to be seen by other teams. If they aren't traded and play a lot at the end of ST, then there is a problem.
  8. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 22, 2008 -> 05:08 PM) And what will fraternities do to improve their name? Most do a lot of community service and philanthropy. Mine certainly did. Nobody pays attention.
  9. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Feb 19, 2008 -> 10:11 PM) I know everyone expecting be a 2 yr. deal but could it be everyone passed and Colon took contract w sox gave? If this is even true, this is what I suspect. Someone pried him away from the burrito bar and told him this was his only chance to earn more burritos. But if it's consistent with deals KW has been giving out, then it's a 2 year deal with a NTC for 2008.

Why couldn't Michael Jordan be a good GM? Why does Tiger Woods go to a teacher that never won anything? Teaching is about communicating. Everyone knows the answers, but some are good at getting the message across and some have no idea why a person can't properly swing a bat and can't explain how to fix it.
  11. I, for one, refuse to click that link and give that asshat the satisfaction.
  12. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 11:32 PM) I could see JD being shopped to the Mariners with this deal going down, wouldnt they need a right fielder? Plus he could really help out that offense. Maybe one of their young pitchers would work. Just throwing it out there. JD for Ichiro + cash!! JD has a full NTC for '08 and a limited NTC for '09.
  13. Rosenthal says it's done, but no details. Foxsports
  14. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 02:51 PM) I disagree. I think adding Crisp solidifies (or at least this is the theory) our leadoff spot and adds great defense in Center. I think Owens can then platoon with Quentin should he not be fully healthy as of OD, with Quentin gradually taking a higher and higher percentage of the ab's. I think Jerry becomes 5th on the depth chart if Crisp is acquired. Kenny stated that he went out to acquire "not a player 'like' Carlos Quentin, but actually 'Carlos Quentin.'" I find it extremely difficult to believe that he would then allow Ozzie to bench Quentin in favor of Owens, at least assuming Quentin reaches full health at some early stage of the season. I'm certainly not in favor of surrendering much to get Crisp- not now anyways- but should we acquire him, I don't believe Quentin is the one that gets pushed back on the depth chart. Edit: I forgot Swish has to actually play the field somewhere... I think any acquisition of Crisp means Owens has to be dealt... And where does Swisher play? Swisher is not getting benched. That means Quentin is on the bench. Edit: Damn your quick edit!
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 01:44 PM) FYI, Steve Stone on 670 just said that he had a discussion with Reinsdorf yesterday and suggested the White Sox definitely make a move for Crisp. Just to clarify, you mean "will make" correct? Or do you mean that Stone thinks the Sox need to make a move for Crisp?

  17. My girlfriend snow mobiles up in that area. I think on that trail. There are a lot a bars and the tradition is to bar hop on snow mobiles. So...
  18. Beach is my favorite It doesn't really matter to me, though, as long it's warm.
  19. I don't know. I still remember when Ozzie said he could "F" him in so many ways if he wanted to. Did he clarify that statement? This article doesn't convince me he was involved.
  20. QUOTE(chisox2334 @ Jan 23, 2008 -> 08:39 PM) From mlbrumors blogpost.com White Sox like Lowry?: The White Sox might pursue a trade for pitcher Noah Lowry. Lowry is being shopped by the Giants, and could definitely land Joe Crede from the White Sox. Stay tuned. If they heard it whispered, it's wrong.
  21. Chicago Boston - only been there once and for a short time, but it's a fun city. New York - great time if you know someone who lives there and knows the places to go. It's too busy for me though.
  22. The worst commercials I've ever seen are from this car dealer in upstate New York called Fucillo. It's basically these two asshats who yell and shout at you or sing some retarded jingle. One's fat with a thick NY accent and looks like the quintessential used car salesman. The commercials are either unscripted or they are really bad with lines. The worst part about the ads is that there is a new one every couple of days and they come on during every commercial break on every channel. I have no clue how they have the money to advertise like this. Anyway, everyone in this part of the country knows the commercials and hates them. This has been very therapeutic.
  23. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 11, 2008 -> 03:56 PM) I still haven't seen pictures...do they look a like at all? I assume they don't want pictures getting out because of the embarrassment. God that would suck.
