  1. Hey Jason what do you think about demanding Jeter as a must. Yes I know he is very expensive and New York's God. But lately he hasn't gotten along with the boss man and with them already having Sorriono I think they may be willing to part with Jeter. Especially if we were willing to give up Colon, DJ, and Carlos Lee. I know that seems like a lot but IMO it really isn't, because we are getting a top 5 SS in the league both on offense and defense. And he brings all the qualities we have been looking for in a player(Being able to bunt, play great defense, steal bases, and would be a great leader for a young team). So tell me what you think.
  2. I would love to hire him. If you notice that that he is a coach on the team that has the most stolen bases in the league and plays some very good defense. I have been thinking that we should consider him for our next managering job along with Backman. But even if we don't hire him as a base coach/defensive infield coach.
  3. I watch a lot of the games on Directv and this is one of the only times I have seen the Hawk and DJ say something negative about the team. I think they agree with us, bunting is not that hard(well it is harder than it looks). Harris and DJ especially should be able to lay down a bunt to move the runners over but they can't even do it. I think the problem has to be that we don't focus on it enough in spring training and our manager doesn't think it is a big part of the game.

    Bunting

I saw that after I posted it.

    Bunting

Why can't our team lay down a simple bunt. Yesterday it hurt us really bad I think it may have cost us 2 or 3 runs because DJ(twice) and Harris(once) couldn't get a simple bunt down. I just want to know what our problem is. Is that we don't go over it in SPtraining or is it that our players just don't know how to lay one down. If thats the case they should hire me to come teach them because on my high school team(yes I know its only high school) I am usualy the #2 hitter(even though I am 6'2 250) because I know how to lay down a bunt or atleast move the runners bye hitting it to the right side of the field.(Some times I wonder if they can do that.). I just hope we can correct this problem because IMO it has caused us a couple games already this season and probaly will cost a couple more.
  6. I agree with most of what you are saying except for DJ running us out of an inning. He had to do that to make sure Harris scored. The only negative I saw from him yesterday was that he couldn't get a bunt down twice.(But as the other DJ said no body on this team can bunt.)
  7. 1. Izituris sucks, his defense is oevrrated as well. 2. Konerko is the by the worst player in baseball with a serious condition and an 8-Mill tag...why would anyone want him? Never know what a team like the dodgers will do to improve thier offense. IMO if we could get anything for PK at this point it would be one hell of a trade.
  8. What do you think about trading PK to a team like the Dodgers(Or another team looking for Offense). They are one of the only teams that can afford his contract plus need a lot of help offensivly(Even though as of today PK won't give them that). I think he could come in and platoon with McGriff at 1st and gvive them a right left combo at 1st. I don't know thier prospects but I doubt that we would be able to get a top prospect for him(Thurston or Iztruiz) but maybe a average prospect or a veteran like Cora.
  9. Yes, Last year he was the CF for the Reds when Griffey went down. The only reason he isn't playing CF right now is because Pierre is faster and can cover more ground. Let me add one more thing I think Juan is just a late bloomer. Because when he 1st came up with the Tigers he was a top prospect he just didn't show it then. Now he is showing that talent.
  10. Yes thats him, except he was signed as a 4th OF. And then like you said when Griffey got hurt he was able to start and finnaly showed what many people thought he would be when he played for the Tigers. A guy with power and speed and a great OF arm. Like I said If we could get him in a trade to play CF for he would be the perfect fit.
  11. I agree if we could get him, Nixon, and Fossum for Colon and maybe even Gordon I would do it. It gives us the CF, SS, and another LHP to go in the rotation with Mark and Stewert.
  12. I think that can be termed as lack of focus. ANd honestly I think both go hand in hand.
  13. This could be true but unlike most of you I am unable to go to games because of where I live. So I can't comment on how his teamates think of him.
  14. I agree he needs to be more focused on the field. But IMO I think his laid back style is mistaken for laziness.
  15. I have been reading a lot of posts on here lately that are negative towards DJ. I would like to know why so many people don't like him. To me he has been one of our most consistant hitters all year (right up thier with Maggs). Yes I know he is only an average defender(But remember he is a natural SS and was in a major car accident that caused a major neck injury) and only an average baserunner(this is the only thing I can see people having a problem with because he is a middle IF and should know how to run the bases). But none of that deserves the treatment he has gotten from some fans over his play. Some of you make him sound like he is a .210 hitter who can't field or run the bases.
  16. Now that would be one hell of a trade and would go for it. The only problem is again we would have 2 2nd basemen unless you moved DJ or Castillo to SS. Castillo does have a Strong arm so maybe he would work at SS.
  17. If we could get him for Hummell and Rowand that would be a steal. Like I said they would probaly demand a pitching prospect plus a Rowand, Lee, harris, or hummell
  18. There is a huge diffrence between Juan and Clee. And that is that jaun can play above average defense and Clee can't. Plus add in the 20-25 SBs and the amazing arm he has he will be a very good player once given the chance. I think he has the potential to hit .270, with 110 RBIs, 20-25 SBs, and 5-15 outfield assisits. If we could get him for CLee I would do it but I bet we would have to add a pitcher to get him.(Wright, Garland, or Glover). BTW I used to post on this sight late last season, but haven't since then. But I have been redaing for the past month or so.
  19. I don't know if anyone cares but the guy the Twins drafted(Matt Moses) in the 1st Rd might be the left handed power hitter they have been looking for. I know he is a high schooler and there for probaly won't be in the big leagues for another 3 to 4 years but trust me he has some major power. I played against him this year in high school and he single handly killed us. I was playing 1st and was standing about 2 feet behind the bag and he hit it down the 1st base line, I reacted to it on time its just that it was hit so hard that bye the time I got to the peek of my jump it was already in the outfield. I can almost gurentee that if it had more air under the ball it probaly would have gone 420 feet. The only reason I am telling yall this is because as huge White Sox fan I know we need some LF handed power and IMo he would have been a great pickup. Now all I can say is that I hope he doesn't sign with the Twins and goes to college so we can have another chance to draft him.
  20. If we want to get one of Florida's catchers....we're going to have to give them a helluva lot more than just Glover/Stewart and Paul....we'd probably have to atleast include a fringe prospect as well....and for Castro, probably more. Thanks for clearing that up. I was hoping this would not have happened but it did so I guess we should move on.
  21. You may be right that Olivo is our future catcher but IMO we still need another payer to back him up at the catcher postion. And right now there is no one in our organazation that can do it. Thats why I would think it would be a smart move to pick up Castro(or another young catcher from another team) to be our backup. Because I can already tell that Paul won't be that guy and Sandy is to old to think about the future.
  22. Joel

    Rauch

Thats what I have heard about castro also. That he can hit about 20 homers.
  23. Thats thing though I don't know if he will be waived or not. They could keep all 3 of them so they won't lose them and since they are team that probaly isn't going anywhere and IRod a Free Agent I wouldn't be suprised if they kept him on the roster. Thats why i think the only way you can get him is through trade.
  24. Actualy to tell you the truth I really have seen him play in only one game and that was in preseason this year so I don't know how good he really is. but the guys on TV said that he was supposed to be above average offensive player with a good arm on defense, who hasn't had a chance to prove him self in the majors because of Charles Johnson and Mark Redman last couple years and Redman and IRod this year. So like I said I don't know much but when I heard about him I thought he would be a good pickup especially since he is on a team with 3 catchers and he has no options
  25. You all make good points about Stewart, Glover, and the catcher postion. The only reason I brought up this trade was because I really would like to see Stewart in the majors. I really believe that he is the next Mark Buerhle and would be a great player out of the pen. And I think the Catcher postion is the weakest postion in our whole organazation. And I think we need to add a guy for some depth. But hey we may not even have to make a trade he might still be on waivers and we could pick him up that way. Castro that is. Bye the way does anyone know our Waiver postion
