  1. Maybe they would move him to 3rd bench and bench Tatis
  2. 1st let me say that Peter awnsered my question live today on ESPNEWS. The question was does he think Alomar will be traded and if so could it be to the White Sox. He said that he probaly will be traded this week to either the Expos, Sox, or Royals(This old news.) The problem with us is that the Mets what the same prospect as the Yanks who we are also tring to make a deal with. And the person we want from them is Weaver. I am guessing that the prospect is Cotts but not sure. So I guess the question is who do you want more Waever or Alomar. Me its Alomar he helps us in 2 diffrent places that we need help. Defense and hitting in the top of the order. I know most of you don't want to trade Cotts, but to me it doesn't matter. 1st you never know how a minor leaguer will pan out, 2nd you never know if he will have amjor arm injury or not. And with our history with arms and wouldn't be suprsided if it happened
  3. Dude hawk says everyone the sox bring up is the next coming..........TOTALLY ignore what he says. Agree, on that. But the only reason I brought this up was because it's supposed to be Greg Walker who said it not Hawk and DJ. I really doubt Hawk or DJ would put themselves out on TV like that if it wasn't true.
  4. I really don't have an oppionion on Harris. But he was a top prospect 2 to 3 years ago with the O's, and acording to Hawk and DJ, Walker(Hitting coach) has said that Harris will be a very good hitter in the league. So maybe we should give him some more time.
  5. Would he have scored fronm 2 or did Jiminez moving him to 3rd make the difference on that run? Jimenez didnt move him to third. Jimenez grounded out to 2nd, so Olivo had to stay put. So yep, DLo had NOTHING to do with this win. He very well might have cost us another game. :finger Sorry your wrong Dlo did move him to third on the hit to Grudz. So actualy he did what he was supposed to do and actualy IMO made up for the error he made in the 7th that could have cost us the game but didn't. Make up for it? You're gotta be kidding...my god! --3rd inning: Grudzie is on 2nd, 2 outs....Cubs hit a slow grounder, Jimenez gets a bad read on the ball and is forced to make a spectacular fielding play to barely recover for it...if the ball goes by him, Cubs score---and 3 out 4 times, he doesn't make the play. I am not going to hold a close call against him, but he should be reprimanted for getting to a point where he needs to make a flashy, risky play on a routine grounder... --Another play an inning or two later: he gets a bad/late read on the more or less routine grounderball by Gridzilanek with Goodwin on 1st and ZERO outs in the 4th, the ball ends up going under his pathetic semi-dive...result? Runner and 1st/2nd, zero outs, top of the order coming up, Cubs poised for a big inning to put the game out of reach. I am not even expecting him to turn a DP on that play or even force the fast runner at 2nd even tough that's what good fielding 2B do in that situation...but to get ZERO outs out of the whole thing is ridiculous and typical of his play all season long. He got lucky speedster Tom Goodwin got stopped by Kim, he could have easily cruised to 3rd...Cubs end up loading the bases with 1 out and only remarkable choke jobs by Sosa and ALou prevent the Cubs from blowing the game wide-open. Sox are lucky to escape if only because Wright threw another bad change-up knee high to Sosa on 2-1 count and Sammy hit it 400 feet foul.... --Flash forward, his worst offense: runner at 1st, 1-outs.....Gonzalez hits a routine DP to Jose, who quickly flips to Jimenez who decides out of the blue to barehand it for no good reason since Gonzalez is pretty slow, running from the right side of the box....so instead of the being over, Cubs are back in business and Sox are forced to load the bases up and try their luck with Sosa and Alou....how Cubs do not blow the game open I do not know, but I tell you that Jimenez shouldn't avoid fans' and coaches' wrath just because of it. He's been this s*** all season long... SO ARE YOU SAYING BECAUSE HE FAILED TO GET A HIT WITH RISP AND 1-OUT LATE IN THE GAME, HE REEDEEMS HIMSELF??!! WTF, if anything you should thank Maggs for driving that runner in from 3rd with a real base-hit... My god, some people are just clueless, Jimenez has had as bad a game as a defender can have given the gravity of this game. If this offense wasn't as pathetic as it is, I would bench him for a weak...too bad we have no better option. 1st face it brando you don't like the guy, I have been reading your posts for about 3 to 4 months with out posting but I know how you feel about DJ. So you will always have a biased view on what ever he does. My whole point was that he atleast made up for the error in the 7th inning. He could have just hit the ball to the left side, tried to hit a homer, or even just struck out but he made an effort to hit it to the right side and thats what he did. The reason I know he was tring to do this was because a pitch or 2 before he hit a hard grounder to the right side that just went, foul that shows me he wanted to be the team player. Another thing(this is for everone), everone last year, except for HSC, liked DJ and was expecting him to be the starter. They even liked him in traing camp when he was producing, but then we got the report from Klesko and Nevin saying that he was lazy and everone turned on him before even giving him a chance to prove him self. You're so f***ing OFF-BASE in your presumption that I am biased against DJ, I am not even goung to dignify the rest of that tripe. If you wish, do a post search and see for yourself just how much I "unjustly hated" Theangelo in March-April-May...I am not going to waste time on doing your research, especially not when you appear so confident in yout conclusion. (better yet ask Steff and HSC, LOL) Hey Brando, I am very sorry about what I wrote and the way i wrote. Write after i did it I felt sorry and was thinking about deleting it bnut didn't. So again sorry for writting that..

    DJ

I can't stand up for him today. He made to stupid f***ing errors that may have cost us the game.
  7. Harris, 2nd base-yesterday he played well there Rowand, CF-He had the game tieing homer he deserves to start Frank, 1st-Obvisus reasons Mags, RF-again obvisus reasons Daubcah, DH he has been hot lately and we need his LH power. Lee- LF, best cubkiller on the team. Daubs at 5 to break up the RHs Valentin-SS, he has been our 2nd best hitter over the past week and we need his leadership in the lineup. D'Angelo-3rd, Maybe batting lower takes the pressure off of him and he starts to hit again Olivo- C, He works well with ELo. What do you think.
  8. I would have bunted also. But I'm glad that we won anyway

    DJ

Is he still a dumb f***
  10. Even though I like DJ a lot, I don't think I could pass on a chance toi get one of the better 2nd baseman of all time on our team. But like I said earlier i wouldn't just settle for Alomar I would try and get Weathers also thier setup man. He is tiead with Dotel in the NL with 15 holds. No one on the Sox's even has 10.
  11. I think they would take DJ for him.
  12. As much as I like DJ I would love to have Alomar even more. I think he would be the perfect leadoff hitter in the AL(His whole problem in the NL is that he doesn't know the pitchers.) He would also give us great defense at 2nd baseman which we haven't had in years. I think if we could give up just DJ and maybe a pitcher for him we may have a deal. Another guy on the Mets I would love to get is Weathers, he is in the top 10 in holds and would be a great addition to the bullpen.

Ok you may be right, I just don't see the same thing working out. Of course I hope I'm proven wrong. But when Wells 1st came up he showed the potential that everone thought he had(Not on a consistant basis but he did show his potential). I have not seen the same potential from Borchard yet, except for the future's game last year and a couple games against the Richmond Braves(my home team). Of course that is just from my sight and some people may see it diffrently.

JMO but I don't think you can compare Wells and Borchard's time in the big leagues. The reason Wells didn't put up #s sooner was because there wasn't much playing time up there in Toronto with Mondesi, Stewert, Cruz JR, and him in the same OF. Borchard on the other hand has been given playing time he just hasn't done much in the majors.

1st my fault, to Zach I thought he was responding to me. Rex I think your guy is Vernon Wells

Even though I like Glaus, I think the Sox need LH power and thats why I would rather have Giles or Beltran.

    Joe B.

Do you think the White Sox might consider trading him to a team before the deadline along with some pitching for a big bat(Giles or Beltran). To me it wouldn't hurt because well he hasn't done anything and if we can get a star like Giles or Beltran for him(Both LHs who can play CF), and if we do trade him we would need to do it soon before his stock could fall really far.
  20. I think there are 2 possible teams to trade Carlos Lee and Pk to. 1. The O's, I don't know who they have in thier farm system but I do know they need some power from the right side. If we could trade Carlos and maybe Malone for Ponson I would defenailty do it. 2. The Dodgers, They are just like the O's because they also need some power. Again I don't know who is who in thier farm system but if we could get anything for PK from them I would do that also.
  21. Sorry, I should have just went back and looked at the work you guys did but was to lazy to do that. But even 2 is 5 is good compared to what we have been doing lately.
  22. 2 days in a row with great plays form our CFer. 1st Rowand going 3-4 yesterday and today it looks like harris went 3-4. I hope this platoon keeps working like this because it would really help our offense.
  23. I will agree with you that his stats are declining but IMO thier whole offense has been in a decline so that may be the the reason his #s have been in a decline. IMO all we would need from him is to hit .285 with 200 hits, 25 SBs, 15 HRs, and great defense. And I think he can still do that
  24. Its intriguing. If this team wasn't a small budget team I'd say go for it and I think you may be onto something cause I'd like the Yanks wouldn't mind unloading him and his huge contract. The thing is, imo, Jeter is a waste of space at 20 mill. If you had him at 10 mill, fine, but he doesn't deserve more then that. If the Sox were going to spend that kind of money, I'd rather try and sign Tejada and I think Tejada's price has really fallen. One guy I really like is Renteria in St. Louis. Great defensive player and he's finally developing into a heck of an offensive player. Yep that would be the only problem with Jeter and of course that is his contract. I just with JR would suck it up and spend on his team. I have said this before I wish there was a rule in MLB that you have to spend a certain amount of money on your team 90mil or sell it.
