  1. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 02:02 PM) Why is the guy in Thailand in the first place? To me this sounds like a child predator on the prowl internationally. Yeah, thats pretty much what it sounds like.
  2. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) someone today at work wondered if maybe he was in trouble in thailand and confessed to avoid a Thai jail and would rather serve his time here in the US That is not outside the realm of possibility. A scrawny, creepy sex offender in a jail in Thailand? Plus he probably knows he won't be convicted here. Plus as stated, the guy has read every shred of crap on the case. That theory does seem to fit the facts, so its possible.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) Karr confesses to strangling Ramsey Nothing in there that wasn't in the other articles, other than a flashy title. His words show no confession (though he may have given a lot more the police down there).
  4. QUOTE(AbeFroman @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) The news reports are that this John Mark Karr admits "drugging her" and having sex with her. JonBenet's body had clear burns from a stun gun.... Why the hell would someone use a stun gun on a drugged person?! Plus, this dope's wife says he was in Alabama for Christmas in 96... I hope for the sake of the Ramsey's that this sicko isn't making a false confession. Its beginning to look more and more possible. If the DNA evidence comes back negative.... then s*** hits the fan The body had no signs of drugs or alcohol, per autopsy.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) I still think Ross Gload has it in him to be the starting 1st baseman for a big league team if he ever gets the shot. He controls the bat really well, doesn't have the power of our guys, but should be able to hit .300+ with moderate power over a full season if he's given the shot. It's sort of a shame that the 2 guys in front of him are just so bloody good. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 12:26 PM) Your were part of the investigation? Wow, that's fascinating....how much do you know (not asking you to tell us, but more like do you know as much as anybody in general is the question). Also, are you saying they might have just decided after 10 years to find a crazy guy who was in the area at the time to frame with the crime? I know a little. Not too much. My involvement was circumstantial and bizarre - we just happend to grab this guy (the one I mentioned) on something unrelated, and some flags came up. Thats about all there was too it, aside from some of the quirky details that I shouldn't really divulge. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 12:36 PM) Not to speak too much for NSS, but I think he is aluding to the fact that if you REALLY believe something, people tend to go out of their way to find evidence that supports your beliefs. If the investigators really thought this guy was the guilty man, it wouldn't be that hard to build a pretty quick circumstancial case against him judging by what he have read about him. Mix in a few conincidences, and you could really convince someone of his guilt, whether it were true or not. (just to be clear, I am not speaking to this mans guilt or innocence, mostly towards human nature) That's about right. I meant that, and also, that there are a LOT of creepy folks out there, and that they gravitate often times towards kids.
  7. Know what they put on their hot dogs.
  8. QUOTE(Soxy @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) The trib is reporting that this guy extensively studied the Ramsey case and the Klaas (I think) case. Sounds to me like a crazy, it will be interesting to see how this turns out. . . This brings up another possibility, which has been itching at me since this broke. The guy could be completely innocent. I'm going to try to put this as carefully as possible... if one knew my real name (my name not being North SideSox the 72nd), and searched the various case files for the Ramsey case, you would in fact find my name. I played a very, very small part in the investigation, back in 1996 or 1997. There was a person of "interest" we happened to come in contact with - a person not all there, and who had a documented history that included sex crimes against a child - who was not only obsessed with the case, but he actually somehow knew the Ramseys before the murder. Mind you, this person is NOT, I repeat NOT, John Mark Karr. My point is, there are a lot of lunatics out there, and this Karr guy may be innocent of the crime but guilty of being a creep. Anyway, suffice it to say, this dude may be entirely innocent of the crime. I've seen something similar before, first hand.
  9. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 10:20 AM) Couldn't 'innocent' and 'not guilty' in a court of law be two different things? Court of law aside, there is an important psychological distinction between the two, and his language repeatedly points at the difference in this case. He is trying to make a point with that. What point I do not know, but there it is.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2006 -> 10:13 AM) http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060817/D8JI67383.html That is exactly my point. He was there, he isn't innocent, but he keeps intentionally avoiding saying he did it.
  11. I think its odd that he kept referring to "being there" when she died, but not killing her. And that he was in long-time contact with the mother. I still think there is the possibility the mother was involved here. Hard to say, though. Dude is creepy in any case.
  12. I just searched... 2 tickets - sold out. 1 ticket - found a single seat, Section 542, Row 20.
  13. Red Cubs are off today, so we can make up a half game. Tigers start a series against the now fight-fiesty Rangers. Minnesota with one more against CLE, trying to sweep. And we have the Royals, at home, with Buerhle on the mound. Um... WIN?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Happy B-Day, Nuke-u-lar!!!!! Go out on the town and get... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIPPPPEEEDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:23 PM) He's running as an "independent minded Democrat" which includes getting all but endorsed by a Republican president, accepting money and help from Republican partisan sources. If Lieberman wants to keep his spot in Senate seniority, he oughta pledge that he'll caucus with the Dems in January 07. I disagree. I think his days of being successful in the Democratic party are over. At this point, he might as well shoot the moon - go indy, or go GOP.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) First of all, it sucks for the guide (even though he sounds like a douche) because Gentry is going to just blame it all on him. He'll probably get away with this with a slap on the wrist. Second, Gentry is a pussy. A bow and arrow? A real man would've used this: A really long turd? How would one use that to kill a bear?
  17. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:24 PM) They are reporting the suspect is a 41-year-old second-grade teacher. And right now, savvy journalists are seaching for elementary school teachers who were teaching in Boulder in 1996 who were 31 or so at the time.
  18. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) I think she did it because of plain old fashioned jealousy. I'd agree, if she did it, that's why. When I say by proxy, I meant that she had someone else do the dirty work for her. That would explain the note in writing like hers, her weird behavior on police arrival, the disappearance of police equipment when only she and they were there, etc.
  19. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:06 PM) OMG!!! THEY KILLED BIGSQWERT!!!!!!
  20. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Really..? Everything I read - being a court tv junkie back then - pointed directly to mama I thought. The note sure as heck did. But mothers killing non-infant daughters, especially in violent close quarters like that, is very, very unusual. She also may have done it by proxy.
  21. The Boulder PD screwed the pooch on the initial response and investigation so badly that no one will every be convicted. Also, while it is not what would be characterized as real evidence, I was pretty sure what happened when I saw their 60 minutes interview. Here is the scene... The interviewer asks the mother a question: "Do you believe the person who did this should get the death penalty?" Her answer? She paused a few seconds, then broke down into tears. One of them did it. I'd stake my reputation on it.
  22. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 03:39 PM) I meant ozzie Ah. Well that makes sense then. Thanks for the clarification.
  23. Its amazing to me how many people are still stupid and/or bitter enough to think a team that was in first place for all 162 games and went 11-1 in the playoffs won the championship because they were "lucky". These BP guys, who are all about stats, choose to ignore that overwhelming statistical fact.
  24. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 16, 2006 -> 03:09 PM) gotta win this I hope someone yelled at them last night because something was really lacking Because someone yelling at them from the stands always fixes everything. Just win it, boys. 3 of 4 is just fine.
