  1. QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:23 AM) Ugh, I was half hoping that it was photo shopped or something but that really is her thumb.. awful OK, I almost never comment on the hot chick type discussions, but I need to chime in here. Someone needs to explain to me why everyone here seemed to think Megan Fox was hot, despite that her face is really kind of weird looking (nice body no doubt), but they because she has a misshapen thumb its a turn-off. Seriously, WTF? The fact that she's just plain unattractive in the face is no biggie, but the one inch of the end of her thumb is? I'm sorry but some of you people are bizarre.
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 07:57 AM) Of course there's money in it. Or rather there will be. Of course there is, there is a ton of demand out there for this stuff. Its just a matter of deciding if you want to be leading edge - higher investment risk but higher return - or wait until the market grows. If you want, you can't keep up on cost, so you just became a buyer, which is a mistake.
  3. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) The sad thing is I believe the Green Collar jobs that are being promised to people will likely end up being outsourced. Research / Development, engineering, tech installation, back office work, book keepign, ect are all areas targeted for outsourcing. A corporation could even bring in outsourcing companies to install solar panels and windmills. They will eventually, yes. But not at first. And being there first is big money, all up front, then residual on the back end from patents and management - high level design and engineering jobs, managing the outsourced work.
  4. Seriously folks, I feel like I have to say this again as no one seems to see it, on either side of the aisle. The growth this country saw in the 80's, 90's and 00's was NOT MANUFACTURING. It was in areas where the US gets to the leading edge in technology, get it out the door in initial manufacturing, then move on to the next great thing, leaving secondary manufacturing growth to go overseas. We are not capable of competing with the costs structures that countries like India and China can output technical hardware and software at. Therefore, we have to be at the FRONT OF THE LINE. That is the most important aspect to growing these "green" jobs - more important even than getting off foreign oil or reducing pollution or avoiding future resource risk, all of which are very important. The world is about to launch into a huge need for this stuff, its just starting - if we get out in front, we win BIG. If we fall behind, we're in deep doo-doo. Its that simple. We need to invest in this now to get the payoff later, or we'll be the ones paying later.
  5. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 05:00 PM) I had ortho on both knees. The left knee wasn't bad, apparently they just had to 'clean some stuff up', or so I was told. My right one I blew out pretty good. Was going to try and dunk a ball in an intramural basketball game and hit a loose floorboard. KNee cap was way off to the right and it messed up everything in there. And with only 10 seconds left in the game, too. Had the surgery, and was back playnig volleyball in 2 months. Although now it hurts like hell going up and down stairs (20 years later), and makes a crinkling sound like tin foil. I get the crinkling sound from the knees too, but I assumed it was still remnants of the Chondromalacia. If they said they were "cleaning stuff up" in the left knee, that sounds like Chondro to me.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) Specifically ordering torture or deliberately turning a blind eye while your subordinates order torture however, is a war crime. As much as I despised Bush as a President, I don't think he did either of those things. Torture or not torture has shades of gray, Bush's line was in a place not the same as me, but I think he was talked into it because he didn't have the balls to go against the hawks he chose to surround himself with. Cheney, who was more intimately involved in that end of things, MAYBE you talk about that. Maybe,.
  7. Charlotte up 3-2 in the 4th, Restovich 2-run HR, Whisler pitching (both runs given up were unearned, error Whisler) B-Ham just getting underway, Ely starting W-S down 2-1 in the 3rd, J-Lowe pitching Kanny tied 2-2 through 2, Sauer pitching, and he's walked 2 guys already - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Missoula @ Great Falls at 8pm CT Bristol up 2-1 in the 3rd, Gouvea pitching
  8. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 04:48 PM) So are there countries that have the balls to arrest Bush as a war criminal if he steps foot there? Being ignorant and really, really bad at managing or leading, which is what Bush was, is not a war crime.
  9. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) IIRC the administration did talk quite a bit about those WMD prior to the war. Yes they did. And it was B.S. if you were willing to take a close look at the arguments they were making.
  10. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) I guess the reference was too obscure. No I got it, I own the album (Joshua Tree I think), but also took the opportunity to clarify.
  11. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 03:41 PM) YES!!!! Another politician who doesn't pay his taxes! Franken had a tax issue? I must have missed that.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 02:28 PM) Glad to see the era of Governance by fear is over... Except that poster wasn't generated by the government. I expect partisan groups to use fear.
  13. QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 01:56 PM) I was thinking about the WMD and thinking, they still haven't found what they're looking for. That was never the prime motivation for the war, despite their claims otherwise.
  14. So now, he's saying there were further daliances with this Brazilian woman, and that he also "crossed the line" with other women as well. This really is like a slow motion train wreck.
  15. Does Congress have the authority to pass a law putting some sort of time limit on election contesting? I think it would behoove everyone involved if in the future we could do that.
  16. Of the players on W-S right now, which ones have the most deceiving stats? Could be guys who are much better than they look on the stats pages, or guys who have big stats who really aren't major league talent.
  17. Nevin Griffith not looking so hot in his two starts so far, but then I'd assume he'd have some rust to shake off.
  18. NDFA Chase Blackwood goes 3-5 with 2 doubles and a HR in his debut at GF. Dubler is theoretically the starter there (8th rd pick last year), but in 2 games he's hitless (does have 2 walks though), so he'd better check six, especailly after his less-than-stellar 2008 at Bristol.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) There was a car chase I guess in Dallas all over Fox News while I was at work. Must be a slow news day.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) I wonder if kap was part of this car chase? huh?
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Which is exactly why the judge gave him the max. He was totally uncooperative. That and to send a message to others who may do the same.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 03:12 PM) He didnt say "No thanks" when he was handed the keys to Batman, when the prior film was "Batman and Robin" Completely different. The Batman series had some good stuff in it at one time, and was the type of story that could made into an actual film. The Transformers series is just 2 two hour films of watching someone else play a video game.
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Michael's mother Katherine is getting temporary custody of his three kids... This got me wondering, who are the mothers of the kids? Wasn't he married to one of Elvis' daughters at one time?
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 03:26 PM) Maybe you dislocated the knee cap or something? That's what I was thinking, like a Donny Lucy type injury.
  25. QUOTE (Cknolls @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 02:54 PM) Is that over a certain period, or just for 2020? I stated it was per year, which I assumed meant each year going to 2020.
