  1. Sure, but until that point, this is an exercise in jerking off Cub fans. Remember all of the Sox front line pitchers have taken a step back this year in terms of their prospects. We don't have extra pitching in the system.
  2. Martin still has 5 years of control after this season. For a team that still needs pitching, this makes zero sense.
  3. Here's another one to track: Most losses in 2 seasons: Mets 231 1962-63 Most losses in 3 seasons: Mets 240 1962-64 Sox with 222 in 24/25. They set the 2 season record with 111 losses this season. They set the 3 season mark with 119.
  4. A signing like this hitting the media twice as "close" is wild. It's like his agent is begging someone else to make an offer.
  5. Absolutely not. Dude is 32.5 years old and has no control left.
  6. And for the record, on fangraphs there are 27 qualifying 1B as measured by PAs in baseball right now. -Andrew Vaughn is 27th on the offensive side. -Andrew Vaughn is 24th on the defensive side. -Andrew Vaughn in 27th in fWAR. If you expand it out to ALL qualified starters: -Andrew Vaughn is 153 of 164 on the defensive side. -Andrew Vaughn is 162 of 164 on the offensive side. -Andrew Vaughn ranks 164th of 164 in fWAR. People are convinced Tim Elko should play because Andrew Vaughn is quite literally the worst starter in MLB right now.
  7. No it does not. But it happens with Sox fans a lot more because they have an absolutely terrible line up. I am NOT shocked your take is to attack me personally.
  8. We do love to play players who we are about to send down/release, so it checks out that Elko isn't long for Chicago.
  9. In general, they don't learn if they aren't playing so I fully get that idea. In this case, Baldwin has essentially skipped AAA, and hasn't really done anything positive at the MLB level. If he is just going to ride the bench here anyway, I think he can still learn in AAA as well. Dude has a grand total of 35 PAs in AAA, and 319 at AA.
  10. That's what I see when I squint. I know it is the fashion to turn every slap hitting utility guy into the next Kwan or Arraez, but I don't see that kind of a hit tool here.
  11. Yeah a youth movement requires youth who will be long term starters. Baldwin could be a guy who helps a team, but I don't think he is a guy worth building around. He seems like even if he is a starter somewhere, he would be a guy you are trying to upgrade over. Utility guy seems like a solid ceiling. For a team like this one, that has value and would be a positive development, but when you talk about the future of the White Sox, Baldwin is not a guy who you are penciling in somewhere long term.
  12. He definitely didn't come across as ready. That's OK, let him get his ABs.
  13. I call it "worst season of all time syndrome"
  14. He bought the Suns in Feb 2023. By that trade deadline he had brought in Kevin Durant. The following off-season he brought in Bradley Beal. Tell me why you wouldn't expect him to do similar here?
  15. And if the people in charge of their development, somehow aren't able to do that job of development, they probably shouldn't be in jobs that involve evaluating and getting the most of young talent.
  16. I didn't go out and term a swath of the board as "annoying" so some self-awareness might be in store.
  17. If they were owners in 2019, we don't come in 2nd place for Machado and/or Harper, I know that much from their work in Pho
  18. As opposed to needing to read everything about those who are annoyed, and then telling them how annoyed you are that they are annoyed.
  19. In this scenario I think we are recruiting retired plumbers to fight fires, because they have experience with water.
  20. We went through the stars and failures era. It didn't work.
