Look, this is one of the few "veteran presence" guys who actually did the job he was paid to do, so I will give them props for getting the scouting right in this case. But these fill a hole filling signings are the things you celebrate with an 85 win team trying to eek a bit more out of a roster, and not a 41 win team looking to build a critical mass of kids to rebuild with.

If it were me, I would love my "veteran leadership" to actually be able to show the kids what it is like to be successful at the major league level on a daily basis.

White Sox vs Yankees 6:40pm CST; Martin vs Warren
After the recent talks about the pen sporting a middle of the pack ERA I actually went through and looked it up. After the last couple of days, the Sox are 19th in MLB in pen ERA at 4.14. It gets interesting when you look at a xFIP of 4.57, good for 28th, and FIP of 4.22 good for 21st. Lucky seems to be the most accurate word.

And judging by the drops in attendance, ratings, and advertising, there are plenty of both.

It's why the Slater deal was better. They actually got a potentially useful piece for the next half decade, vs a roster spot filled.

And if they are, it means their Coaches need to find a new line of work.

Colson Montgomery has arrived
The absolute worst guys are usually stuck at DH. 1B is because they can't throw and/or have range. They mostly just catch the balls that other guys throw.

But be ready for the stern talking to about feeling that way. Everything is FINE! This was all EXPECTED! SMILE DAMN IT!

Dude was a QB, and a really good one, for the record.

A 35 year old on a one year deal, on a team going for their 3rd straight 100 loss season, is a "home run" signing if you can turn him into at least one usable player with six years of control. The idea that this was a huge win because we got somewhere around 2 WAR out of a player who will be most likely playing with his grandkids by this time this is even a .500 team again isn't focused on the future at all. Ironically in one post, it doesn't matter how many games we lose because we are rebuilding, but then the next up short term results of a short term player who has returned nothing for the time when this franchise can start to win again is a home run? If it is a home run to get 2 WAR out of Tauchman this year, it was an embarrassment to lose 100 games. If this season doesn't matter for losses, than the results of Tauchman within those 100 losses, can't be a win, unless he returns someone who can be a win when the wins actually matter. It is either about now, or later.

More than anything, they need to keep him healthy. I hate them playing him with an injury in a meaningless season. Get him healthy.

8/27/25 Gamethread Royals @ White Sox 6:40 PM
It was moronic in spect, let alone retrospect.

I am at least going to say, if you really think someone isn't a SS for measurable reasons, playing them elsewhere while they are in the minors is a good idea. Let them learn at the lower levels.

This was so predictable. Betting on Robert's health is just crazy.

Was he? Because said poster faced consequences for the post, despite some calling that fascist.

The Nazis started by telling people what they were allowed to say and think and who their enemies were in fanatical terminology, much like you just did here. The problem has never been disagreements. It has always been the personal attacks embedded in them, such as where you get a post deleted and you connect it to fascism, instead of personal responsibility. If you are really worried about radicalism, there is plenty in the world you COULD be doing to ACTUALLY help real people in real life, non-internet situations. And no, Soxtalk isn't a democracy, it is a privately owned entity who answers to said owner. You've been here long enough to know what triggers problems, but instead chooses to ignore it.

I’m tired of these types of posts
The usual people have taken over, got the topic reframed, done their name calling and finger pointing, were supposedly done days ago, are still going, but the point still remains despite those who think they alone should decide what Soxtalk should think... one does not have to groupthink on Soxtalk. If you think the Sox would be a better franchise under semi competent leadership and ownership, that is a valid opinion. Don't be gaslit into feeling validated by a world salad that just isn't true. Be free.

Yes, you are such a poor, poor victim. It has nothing to to do with fighting perceived grudges from years ago. It has nothing to do with your inability to debate a topic without turning it into a series of personal attacks because someone dared to disagree with you last decade. I even have avoided responding to most of your responses where you insert yourself so you can have a trademark meltdown about literally nothing, because you can't handle the anyone who doesn't parrot your opinion. So you keep tilting at windmills, thinking you are some noble crusade.

The fact that you are still here pretending to be oppressed, despite going after people all of the time is the best evidence of all against you. You hate it here, and everyone is apparently against you, yet you keep posting. Weird right
