  1. I didn't say anything good or bad about it, I am just trying to understand what you were saying about it.
  2. When are the 2026 picks known enough to be available to be traded?
  3. And why is this a red flag? Just because they know him?
  4. Can you elaborate on what you mean, because I have no idea what you are trying to say here? What does John Cangelosi have to do with our 2nd round pick and/or our current management structure?
  5. You lose the slot money that year, as well as a year of development and the player, which means you have one less slot to work with on your player allotment. Not all player picks get replaced, not sure what that looks like now.
  6. This, combined with the guys being dumped at the trade deadline could make for an ugly 2nd half.
  7. It isn't that simple. If you go over with someone, which is typically the high school picks, you have to go under with others, or you lose a future draft pick. So while you might over pick at one slot, you then have to under pick at another (or more) to make up for it. If you spend a million over slot to pick the BPA up front, you have to save that million dollars by NOT taking BPA at subsequent slots.
  8. Otherwise you end up with a 121 loss team. I am so glad they work really, really hard at being bad though.
  9. They have to be, and with good reason.
  10. It is completely overrated, and actually part of coaching. You don't always get to pick your most talented players, and being able to get the most out of them is quite literally your job. And when a group that was succeeding, almost all fails at once, that is a huge red flag that despite telling us "motivation" was the problem, the problem was much different.
  11. The issues were management and bringing in people to fit the kids. These same kids were all producing at high levels until said change and then they lost them forever. Can we talk about the make up of the ownership team instead? Nah, we'll use the assigned buzzword instead.
  12. So it will probably be my jinx when he fails, but I do like to check in on the merch auctions around the Sox and their MiLB teams. Sometimes if I see a jersey I will, I will put in a bid either for a player of interest, or a jersey number I like if it is cheap enough. The Knights 4th of July jersey popped up recently, so I bid and won a Schultz jersey. I got it in the mail today, and it was autographed too! Nice win.
  13. Never thrown more than 50 innings in a season and injury prone. I do like them taking a chance on a dude with a big time ceiling at least.
  14. Yeah, that is usually in the 6th/7th round through the 10th, but maybe with a 3rd HS kid it starts earlier.
  15. And let's be honest, if this was your team, it would take literally BILLIONS in free agency dollars to try to fill every hole with the type of top quality players it would take to make this a playoff roster.
  16. Dude went from consensus first rounder to bust basically overnight. That was one of the wilder ones I can recall.
  17. Honestly, with the ownership timeline, about the time this ship could get turned around, should be after the lockout and stadium stuff are over with, and Ishbia SHOULD be more in front of the rudder than Jerry is, especially if the inevitable happens sooner than later.
  18. The "at least" is doing A LOT OF WORK in that post.
