  1. I went back and looked, I think it was Jaren Kendell
  2. Wasn't there a similar guy that the Dodgers drafted about five years ago? Can't recall the name, but a huge power guy, low hit, high strike out profile?
  3. 10 teams got zero Not Play For votes. 9 teams got zero Play For votes. 2 teams got 30, or more, Not Play For votes. 0 teams got crossover voting. 0 players selected Will Venable to play for, and 0 also selected him as not play for.
  4. MLB.com even sent it out as breaking news as a push on it's app.
  5. I have a read a lot of crazy things on Soxtalk before, but that was a new one.
  6. For a team that is supposedly advancing so much in analytics, it is unexplainable.
  7. Like to play for the White Sox: 0 Not like to play for the White Sox: 31
  8. Honestly with how little things changed from Hahn to Getz, it makes a ton of sense. Same weird line ups, same playing DFAs in key positions until the day they are released, over dependence on washed up vets instead of kids, blocking kids, etc. Someone like Tony and/or Jerry still sticking their nose in to "help" would check out.
  9. Gotta keep it simple I suppose. Though it is weird that the "Jedi" apparently believe in Emperor Jerry.
  10. And the most fun part is the person who prevented these moves and forced the worst move is still in change until 2029.
  11. I can't believe this got down to judging Kenny's time as GM. People have lost their minds.
  12. A ton of people don't have multiple options, especially for the high speed internet service.
  13. We were a 41 win team last year. We are on pace for 54. We are WAY behind and we are 100% not spending big in the off season. We are not close in any way, shape, or form.
  14. Yet, how behind all of them are we? If we are going to get there we need a critical mass of talent getting here in a narrow window to make up 40-50 entire games to be a real playoff threat. Every time a Grant Taylor falls off, that is one less opportunity for that to happen.
  15. The ALCentral is a mass of .500ish teams who all got 10 free wins against the White Sox. If your goal is to be the Twins/Guards/Tigers/Royals, the Sox still have 30-40 games to go. The East and West have legitimate 90 to 100 win teams.
  16. The AL Central is bad, and the Sox really help them look much better. The rest of the AL is a lot better. The Sox are currently WAY behind even those teams.
  17. If your offense and defense aren't elite you need a lot more pitching.
  18. It's funny because you are making my point for me about how hard it is to find and keep front line pitching, but totally by accident.
  19. Here's another entire article from 2020 touting the organization's advances in data, analytics, and biomechanical work, and all of the hires that Getz (Using "I", not "we", or "they") was making then. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/1566148/2020/01/28/what-the-white-soxs-next-stage-of-player-development-looks-like/
  20. You need front line guys though. That was supposed to be Hagen, Dutch, and Taylor. If not Taylor, you are now down to needing the other 2 to be your 1-2.
  21. Eh, Cannon just happened, as did like half a dozen TJSs, maybe they are adjusting that way, but I don't agree with conservative.
  22. If he's not a starter that makes building a quality rotation harder.
