  1. Why it is that Jerry felt the need to go the media and not that the media came to him and asked about it?
  2. Tonight I took the over and took some HR odds. Got Merrifield at 700 Franco at 500 Soler at 340 Robert 460
  3. He is a free agent in less than a month. Who was giving up something worth more than what the Sox could get out of him?
  4. He pitches like a guy with no confidence. There isn't a huge difference between his velocities. His first year here his fastball was 94.5 on average. This year it is 94.1. He was at 95.5 in 18 and 19. What is really down is his slider going from 86.3 in 17 to 82.0 here. He was 83.9 in 18 and 84.1 in 19. His curve and charge are in his norms I think he is throwing nothing with confidence right now. He looks and acts lost. I think he could use the time to start over and hopefully rebuild his confidence against the camp guys instead of real major leaguers.
  5. We haven't had a good down day in a while. Honestly if the Biden leading at the polls stuff keeps up, we have probably seen the highs for a while.
  6. The stuff is there, that is the frustrating part. He has incredible stuff. He just has no ability to locate or repeat his pitches. Until he does that, he won't be much of a reliever either.
  7. I think it will be a reverse bell curve. Teams ready to spend will target their guys early, then it will die until prices die, and we will see a February/March flurry of signings.
  8. The cubs rebuild put very little capital into young pitching. They went veteran the whole time.
  9. Yeah, that would be a fire-able offense for sure.
  10. Especially since we do know that the Sox led the Wheeler offers.
  11. If you are looking for an article that states the Sox were willing to offer Kopech, Collins, Heuer and others you are probably never going to get it. That very rarely happens in the post tumor of a deal. But the information is out there if you can read between the lines. If you are looking for a 100% confirmation all of negotiations, the conversation is a waste of time.
  12. Your not skeptical, but have posted twice that it is looking like he won't "take that next step". I think you are trying to have it both ways here.
  13. The fact they were discussing guys at the highest levels means they were willing to deal bigger named prospects, otherwise they wouldn't even be worth mentioning when it came to Lynn and Clevinger specifically.
  14. Its looking like you can add the Paredes kid from Detroit.
  15. We don't know that he won't take the next step and it is WAY to early to come to that conclusion. Again, we have proof that pitchers can figure this out after an extended time of failure at the major league level. Like it or not, kids failing at the major league level is a part of the rebuild process.
