Glad to see I am not alone in this comp. This kid is a pretty unique set of tools as a baseball player. I have no doubt that if he decided to play football, basketball, soccer, hockey or whatever, he would have been one of the best in the world at it. He just has a special set of athletic abilities. We talk about 5 tool athletes, but Robert might have multiple 70 to 80 grades on some of these tools, and you don't find that but once in a generation or so.

Oh it sucks for sure. If it is TJS, the odds are very real that he never pitches again, or his stuff is reduced enough that he never gets back to the majors. But for his sake, at least he gets some MLB benefits out of it, instead of being on the outside looking in.

In reality, I am sure he will get another chance. Rosters are going to be crazy churning this year with COVID and injuries from players not being ready.

Actually the other thought I had is because Mercedes was a "taxi squad" guy, I wonder if he didn't require a 40 man roster, spot, and keeping him would have meant an addtional 40 man roster move. That would also explain this.

At least for his sake it happened while he was on a major league roster. He is going to get a full year of service time and 40% of a major league salary out of it, if nothing else.

Nicky can at least catch a ball at a defensive position on a roster where we have a ton of DHs. As much as Delmonico should go (and probably will once rosters reduce to 28), this is the right move.

This is not confirmation bias. This is good science meets snake oil salesmen, and trying to present them as equals. This isn't a 50/50 thing.

Pretty much the studies that have happened have either been disqualified or withdrawn due to flaws, or the people involved believe things like demon spawn are real. The next quality study proving this stuff is effective will be the first. At the end of the day, people with a fiscal interest in this stuff are the ones pushing the cure.
