  1. They are breaking camp with 6 OFs.
  2. I am good with this. No reason to rush him. If he hits, you can always move him up.
  3. It might, but that is also usually a mutual thing. If the date was April 9th, and the Sox promised him a recall for an April 10th start, he isn't about to exercise his out clause.
  4. He's only here because of hte Jay injury.
  5. We THINK our international program is bad, but theirs is quite literally the worst in baseball.
  6. 70-74 is the big winner so far, with the bell curve in the 65-79 range.
  7. There is a new thread for the Sanchez stuff. Please check it out.
  8. Not guilty does not equal innocent.
  9. They ran out of gas. No shame in the comeback they put on this sesaon.
  10. Obviously you bring the guy in and hope he figures out how to hit, but it is still disappointing that we have this much cap space left, and haven't been listed as in on any of the top guys so far.
  11. Hamilton was going to be in by all accounts. If they didn't send him out that still holds true.
  12. He already logged a month last year.
  13. Wasn't he already on the major league roster from his September call up? If they plan on having him on the 25, why waste an option year if you don't have to?
  14. Within a couple of days of Gillaspie's release.
  15. Munster is also a great town. I know eventually they are adding a south spur to the line and that may well be one of the towns on it. I think that stuff is like 5 years down the road.
  16. Except insp. He complains that the world is ending either way.
  17. The South Shore connects into the Metra Electric line just south of 115th street/Kensington. The Hegewisch stop is 35 minutes to downtown and is in Chicago by about a mile, but right on the state line. Hammond stop is 40 minutes and East Chicago is 45. I commuted from an hour and a half away along the same line and while stuff happens, 99% of the time it is on time. Towns like Highland, St John, and Schereville aren't too far away from those stops.
  18. Moncada puts up an .850 OPS and makes the all star team. He out OPS's Jimenez this year. At some point, Hamilton is the closer. Cease is up in mid August. Covey is sent down by mid May. Lenyn Sosa is in the FS top 15 by mid-season. Luis Gonzalez is a September call up. Jay, Alonzo, Colome, and Herrera are all gone by the deadline. Guillen gets fired before the end of the season. Sox finish 2nd with 76 wins in the ALC.
  19. I don't know if you want to hear it or not, but at that point you aren't too much further to Indiana. There are a ton of great towns just over the state line connecting in via the south shore and the Metra electric line. Your property taxes alone will be insanely cheaper. On a primary home tax caps are at 1%. So on a 150k house, you'll never pay more than $1500 a year for your property taxes.
