If you can get Markakis for $6 million dollars, or trade for Pederson with an eight figure annual hit, that has to hit his trade value. If nothing else, it makes me thankful that RH and the Sox decided to start their rebuild a couple of years back and not trying to sell right now. An argument could well be made that the Quintana trade was the absolute top of the mountain in trade value with what has happened since then.

What is really interesting here is that Manny and his team have to decide if this kind of pricing is the new normal or a temporary thing that they should consider waiting out a year or two by taking a short term contract to try getting another bite at the apple in a short time period.

Again, the entire reason that Rich Hill is getting mentioned is because the original tweets which started this conversation mentioned him. The tweeter came back a day later and said that Hill was not going to be moved in this deal, it happened. Now back to original scheduled outrage machine.

Finally saw Baby Driver, and have no idea why people were excited about that movie. It was a two hour car chase.

With as many free agent OFs as are out there still, I am not entirely convinced that Pederson should have a large trade value. Instead of moving assets, why wouldn't they chase someone else?
