  1. And people wonder why most of us are ready for something new.
  2. It is interesting because Boston actually has the hardest remaining schedule, while Pittsburgh is in the top 5 for easiest.
  3. Much of it is pretty easy to argue against for sure. They have done a decent job at adding some personality to the park over the years. I do love that there isn't a bad view in the entire place. Having been to games at somewhere around a dozen other parks, there are definitely places I liked less.
  4. -It is universally thought of as one of the most underwhelming facilities in baseball, typically residing in the bottom three. -There is no aesthetic or beauty to the park. -There is only game day revenue from inside the park, as there is literally zero to do besides a game in the area. -They absolutely did nothing to take advantage of their location within Chicago to emphasize the view or skyline. -The commonly held belief is that the area it is isn't safe, despite the neighborhood around Wrigley having a higher crime rate.
  5. @greg775 Try not to suck any Witt on the way to the Parking lot!
  6. Oh greg the troll, how far you have fallen. Apologies for stealing your thunder @Quin
  7. with a 3rd standard deviation level of confidence... No. Everyone will almost certainly be signed within a week and a half, otherwise they wouldn't have been picked.
  8. Which is why the Sox want to leave 35th.
  9. I don't know. I think Sosa's ceiling is as a mid tier 2B, with a realistic finishing point of the type of guy you can start for stretches, but you are probably going to be trying to replace if you are starting him. He's a win for the system to develop, but if someone offers you something for him, you probably take it.
  10. This is the biggest Cub fan post you have ever made. You'd rather be the Cubs with Sammy Sosa and nothing else so you have someone to cheer for (aka a "local hero") vs understanding that the only chance you have at winning is to take pain now and invest in the future. Enjoy your loveable losers.
  11. They are still unproven prospects. They aren’t getting you full returns.
  12. They aren't going to get much for Quero or Lee on the trade market anyway. They sure aren't going to get a power hitting 1B.
  13. So who are they blocking that would hit better?
  14. Eventually it will sort itself out. We have years before it matters.
  15. Again, we have no 1B. Let them learn first so they can both play at the same time and you don't lose DH if someone gets hurt.
  16. If we got six years of a mediocre OF for Tauchman, that's a win in my book.
  17. A post referencing Rojas's lack of trade value is actually more on topic than this post.
  18. I wouldn't count on anything from Perez this year.
  19. I wouldn't bet on it. Dude could just as easily be washed out in a year.
  20. The wild cards are Cannon and Davis Martin. I do wonder what it would take the Sox to listen, as both have 5 years of control left, but there just aren't a lot of sellers out there.
  21. Here's another one to track: Most losses in 2 seasons: Mets 231 1962-63 Most losses in 3 seasons: Mets 340 1962-64 Sox with 222 in 24/25. They set the 2 season record with 111 losses this season. They set the 3 season mark with 119.
  22. Tauchman should absolutely go to the best offer. I don't think it will be a ton, but there is no reason to keep him.
