  1. Are you saying you need the announcer to tell you how to feel?
  2. Nice to see Brooks even it out.
  3. Brooks misread that ball badly and then set a screen on Colson who had the read. Taylor never had a chance
  4. Getting let down by defensive positioning.
  5. It's 5-0 now. This inning is a scoreless inning if the manager doesn't play his infield in in the first inning with no score.
  6. Yeah inning was over with a goose egg if Mead plays even at 1st.
  7. Infield in in the 1st inning? Eh.
  8. How the heck did that get thru?
  9. John and Steve are back together again.
  10. Hawk was genuine. He was pissed off when things were bad, he was elated when things were good, and he didn't call everything like it was the single greatest play in the history of baseball.
  11. So what exactly would you say that ya do here? I AM A GDAMNED DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST!!!
  12. What do I want? To call the game, and let the excitement happen at genuinely exciting things. There is definitely nuance to PBP.
  13. Unless this thread was the jinx all along...
  14. Which means unless they wanted to call him up and send him down 4 more times in the next eight weeks, it doesn't matter.
  15. You use an option when you send someone to the minors period, even if it is to start a season. Ramos has already had his option for this year activated.
  16. This was a really interesting piece of history I had never heard before. It definitely goes along with all of the redlining and carving up of historic minority neighborhoods for interstates and other "public" projects back in that era.
  17. [insert "first time" meme here]
  18. See, I don't think anything John does is genuine, and that is probably why it bothers me. Both Hawk and Jason were genuine guys in their style. John is just loud to be loud, even when the situation doesn't call for it. Each sport has it's own pace and tempo, and baseball is very rarely a game that should see PBP delivered at a 10. To me it sounds like a guy who doesn't understand the game. I find the most cookie cutter thing about him, is that he really doesn't have anything new or interesting to say, only what he is being fed to say. For as bad as Hawk got by the end, he always had his very own unique style and path. Schiff is just the dude in the crowd who cheers loudly to be noticed, but doesn't actually offer anything of his own.
  19. The wild thing is, if you go to fangraphs and sort 2Bs by fWAR, Lenyn is 11th of 22 qualified players, the very definition of average.
  20. You might have faith in some ethereal BuT hE cOuLd soup of nonsense, but there is quite literally no basis in fact to actually give any weight or belief to Ishbia wanting to move this team. If he was trying to go somewhere else, he could have bought the Twins for cheaper and moved them. Instead he came back to the team which is both in the city where is family business is and where he is putting the finishing touches on his 200,000,000 million dollar mansion. If you want someone to take this seriously you gotta have something better than the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Cleveland Browns did it.
  21. To be fair, you also told us for years that Jerry would never sell, so...
  22. The entire Seattle series was Beckham and Schiff. Yes, I am now curious enough to keep track.
