Shane Smith has at least looked good today. Glad to see him looking like he did early this year after the break.

The Lenyn Sosa Thread
And Sosa gets dumped on a crazy amount for his background story. Dude has never been a huge name or highly ranked guy, yet he keeps beating expectations.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
1959 was 66 years ago. The youngest people that might remember that era are now in their 70s. While it is easy to revert to the back in my day speech, even for myself at now 51, the fact is the entire world has changed since then. One of MLBs biggest problems is they are by far the slowest of the major pro sports in America to adjust to those changes. The vast majority of the future of baseball fans knows nothing of this time, place or existence.

Obviously other people do care. We get it, you don't.

Schultz hit a wall Smith hit a wall Taylor was pushed into the bullpen McDougal has actually stepped forward Iriarte has been a disaster The AAA reliever group has regressed in Coffey, Gonzalez, and Palette Then there are all of the TJSs on top of that. It has been as close to a worst case scenario year for MiLB pitching as you can get.

This is quite literally a discussion about the top baseball stadiums in MLB and what separates one from another. View is definitely one of the factors, as are many others.

For the record, on a clear day I can make out the Chicago skyline from 35 miles away across Lake Michigan, in both Indiana and Southern Michigan. 4 miles is fine.

I have a lot of work to do as well! I get to NYC on a regular basis, but not much during baseball season. I definitely need to pick those up. Some baseball tourism is definitely on my bucket list.

Colson was a legit high D1 combo shooting guard/small forward or D1 QB. He's a beast physically.

That absolutely makes sense. He didn't say that they added instead, but that would make sense.

Miller Park is worth the trip. I liked it.

The fight for .500
This thread could also be be called "The Fight for Southsider2k5 to become a billionaire". Sure it is possible, but the odds are about as close to zero as you can get.

Rick Hahn - Rosters To Rings Podcast
Two more interesting pieces were Rick laughing about the other host wanting him to get Nomar Mazara in the Sale deal, and how bad that ended up being, and Rick replied that he ended up getting him and his "non-production" later on anyway. A a non-specified deadline, Rick went to Jerry with data and had a list of trades he wanted to make to sell, because he calculated the team had between a 9-11% chance at the wild card, and instead Jerry took that as a challenge and wouldn't let Rick sell.

"...midway through (20)21 we lost some of that. And Part of it was the injuries, part of it was down year, part of it was the clubhouse vibe changed dramatically over the course of the '21 season." Yeah, there it is. The quote is at 41:25, but if you back up a minute or so for the context, it is brutal to hear outloud.
