  1. Put another way we turned Jake Peter into Kodi Mederios, Wilbur Perez, and Felix Paulino.
  2. We turned a guy that was so unwanted, that the Dodgers GAVE us Avilan to TAKE him, into a respectable prospect left hand pitching prospect in the high minors. Joakim Soria was clearly a win for the White Sox.
  3. The problem is the next guy will just lie through his teeth and play to the base saying either "We just need to cut entitlements" or "Tax the rich". The financial situation in Illinois/Chicago has been happening for decades, but no one has been willing to address it. It is quite literally the biggest reason I never moved there even when I was working there.
  4. It has been happening for a while now, and will only accelerate. The size and scope of which are only going to be worse for the city of Chicago.
  5. I've got all 3. I live a mile from the beach (and go at least 2 to 3 times a week during the summer especially), my property taxes are under $1000 a year, the South Shore train takes me to the Randolph street station in Chicago if I need it (and did for 15 years)
  6. The single greatest thing about living in The Region is the best of both worlds. Illinois money at Indiana prices. It is even better now that I don't even have to commute into Chicago to get it.
  7. Got it. I didn't realize it looked different. When I pulled up Kopech's page it went right to his rankings page. Again, my mistake.
  8. I managed to find a completely different version of that page without it. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/reedje03.shtml
  9. That's odd then, as it isn't listed on his BR page. If that is true, that is my mistake.
  10. Indiana looks forward to JB's election. The exodus out of the state is going to really accelerate with all of the new taxation that is coming.
  11. Jeremy Reed had one tool, and wasn't nearly as universally beloved as Madrigal. He was never even a Top 100 guy.
  12. Yeah if you are going to straight up comp the two, Madrigal has a much higher floor, and a much lower ceiling. Moncada has a chance to be a superstar, but a chance to end up in an Avi Garcia type of career. Madrigal has a chance to be a star, but is almost certain to be a 10 year starter, as he had 3 major league ready tools on draft day.
  13. Correction. You are the only one who is having a meltdown about it.
  14. That's cute. You run around this thread calling everyone names who you don't agree with and insulting their intelligence, but that's fine. If you want to talk about standards, you should try out your own first.
  15. Sure. But we have let you post anyway.
  16. The contract negotiations surrounding these picks has also taken on a lot more importance in an effort to try to utilize cap space later in the draft. Don't discount that motivation when a team is deciding who to pick.
