We turned a guy that was so unwanted, that the Dodgers GAVE us Avilan to TAKE him, into a respectable prospect left hand pitching prospect in the high minors. Joakim Soria was clearly a win for the White Sox.

The problem is the next guy will just lie through his teeth and play to the base saying either "We just need to cut entitlements" or "Tax the rich". The financial situation in Illinois/Chicago has been happening for decades, but no one has been willing to address it. It is quite literally the biggest reason I never moved there even when I was working there.

Yeah if you are going to straight up comp the two, Madrigal has a much higher floor, and a much lower ceiling. Moncada has a chance to be a superstar, but a chance to end up in an Avi Garcia type of career. Madrigal has a chance to be a star, but is almost certain to be a 10 year starter, as he had 3 major league ready tools on draft day.
