  1. Knowing how the Sox operate with trying to throw teams off of their scent in recent years, this is the Occam's Razor of the thread.
  2. Heuer is the only one who has said he agreed to sign, so no.
  3. There were a lot of people who bit on this one.
  4. Go shop at the gay hardware store- greg. https://amp.usatoday.com/amp/29552615?__twitter_impression=true
  5. In an era where trading away a prospect that blows up ends up being a stain on a franchise for a LONG period of time (I mean how many Tatis posts have we seen here) it isn't that hard to squint and see a scenario where a team is gunshy about sending out top end guys, but maybe is willing to send out something on the low end of their system for a guy.
  6. From everything I read, I would agree. I think he has a chance to be a really good player at the major league level. While I think the Altuve/Pedroia comps are best case scenarios, I don't see why he wouldn't have an Omar Vizquel to a Ray Durham kind of career.
  7. At this point when you add in both what the Padres are kicking in, and what we have paid him already. The Sox have somewhere around $6 million left to pay Shields this year. It isn't THAT much really.
  8. I can't imagine a scenario where a team picks up his contract AND gives a return.
  9. I know it is three days after we drafted the guy, but I am going to call a David Eckstein comp his floor. He has already tools which are major league ready in his speed, his eye, and his bat. If he develops any power at all, he goes to the next level. As is, I think Nick is a guy who could put up .270/.350/.350 as is, while adding ++ defense at 2B.
  10. In general I want to see guys like Bummer here and working, but at the same time his being a primary reliever in AAA means a lot more reps and IPs than being the last guy out of the pen here.
  11. I am going to say this much. The team outperforming its talents by the most in the Sox system isn't Vizquel's, it is Kannapolis.
  12. The last report was as of May 17th. At that point he was throwing bullpens. Think of this as spring training, as Hansen had none. Those guys go six weeks before they ramp up to game shape. We are at 3-4 weeks. Hold the panic for another couple of weeks at least.
  13. Oh wait, I was actually talking about Omar Vizquel, so take full credit for Ray!
