Hansen was not a high floor. His control problems were so bad, he was pitching out of the pen at OU. He could have easily washed out at a low level of the minors if that had continued.

This is my biggest problem. I would much rather of said he was guilty and these are all of the steps he has undergone to make sure it never happens again, versus what we have now.

Front load AND and opt out? That is an awful deal. If you are going to load a contract with an opt, it needs to be in the back end to give the player an incentive to stay, and not to leave. Besides our window is only going to be opening during that time frame.

Looking at it a bit more in depth, The #81 pick is worth $726,700. We have $1,556,100 from #46 and $6,411,400 from #4. If we could scrape up say a million, or even half a million, plus what we will save with seniors in rounds 7-10, we could maybe turn that into $1.5 to 2.0 million for the 3rd round pick.
