Don't know if I am the only one here, but Vikings on History will be back at the of the month. I love the series,

QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) Wow, so Xfinity internet is down nationwide? https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.theverge.c...et-down-reports Yep, have it at home and at the office, so remoting into the office has really sucked today.

My gut feeling is that Soto is resigned with a minor league contract... if not, it will be a similar type of move. I don't think the Sox will really spend (either money or prospects) anything significant in the catching position. I really believe they think Collins is a year or two away.

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 12:52 PM) Remember when Gordon Beckham was "Jeter but better"? No.

QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 11:28 AM) Not sure why Grandal gets so much love on here and Fulmer doesn't Fulmer is the post child for what happens when you rush a prospect. The Sox just need to find a place to start him and leave him be for a season. Send him to AAA again, and let him start every 5th day. Give the kid as many reps as possible and see if he can work through his issues.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 6, 2017 -> 09:31 AM) Benetti did the Mizzou football game this weekend. I enjoyed it. Still keep coming back to the idea that stone is actually bad for him because they seem to think both of their worst tendencies are actually their best. I'd love to hear him to a game with Hawk and see if having a strong leader in the booth would do something for him.

The team looks like it is building depth for his move, after pretty much saying that they didn't consider him a part of the core going forward. For me 2+2 =4.

Betweeen Gillaspie and now this kid, I think we can kiss Abreu good bye.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) A soft-tossing lefty in high A who can't stay healthy and hasn't shown any signs of dominance at the level? No one is going to take that guy and roster him all year when there will be better left-handed pitching options to select in the rule 5. While very unlikely, there is some chance a rebuilding club takes a chance on Adolfo because of tools & age. The Padres have done it before and a team like the Tigers who are just starting their rebuild might consider it. Again very unlikely though. I might be Mickers biggest fan, but this is extremely overvaluing the guy. Pitchers are always a better shot at being picked and sticking to a team than a position player, especially one with the hold in his bat that Adolfo has.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) Do you think any modern sports owner says "May I really want to buy the Marlins, seems like a great return on investment!" Have you see the valuations of franchises historically? Is is a 45 degree angle continually. I can't think of a better investment.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 03:09 PM) Haha they would not turn down Bogaerts and Bradley Let alone Groome? JFC. Miami would be laughing all of the way to the Commissioners Office.

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 02:55 PM) Please, baseball is not any other business deal and owning sports franchises aren't an investment. This is absolutely not true.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) I still don't see any way that they tender Putnam a contract. I know they like it when he's on the mound, but I don't know how you can guarantee the roster spot of a 30 year old who has spent that much time on the DL. A non-tender and minor league re-signing seems like the most likely route they go with him. Especially when they will be looking to be active in the Rule 5 draft for sure, plus have other players they will want to protect.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 3, 2017 -> 09:18 AM) HBO has a good documentary on it. https://www.hbo.com/documentaries/going-clear The crazy thing is that for a Science Fiction writer, Hubbard is one of my all time favorites. As I have gotten older, I now wonder how much of that was intentional, and how much of that he actually believed. Mission Earth and Battlefield Earth are spectacular SciFi. Back to the Documentary, it was very good. But I will say the stories and situations outlined in the Leah Remini series are beyond f***ed up. Just horrible, horrible stuff.
