At the TDL those guys thought they had the winter for figuring out where the team was, before Getz slit their throats and took the job.

He has a superstar season very recently. That's more than either of the other guys can say.

We are depending on a whole lot of guys who have never been through a major league season, or have never been good enough to get starters ABs. Honestly, we have played about as good as we can play so far. The injury excuse card might try to get played, but if you are surprised by injuries to key guys here, I don't know what you have been watching before now that you didn't expect it.

Two years ago was Getz over that winter. If he had really come in and seen a LONG rebuild in place, not trading Luis the winter of 23/24 was his worst piece of negligence to this date.

It is a superstar ceiling. You can't teach that. A lot of teams have to be better that their internal support and staff is way better than what the White Sox have got, and it looks like teams are out there strongly looking at bringing Robert in. We keep talking about $15 million, but when the top of the line guys are getting $50 million plus a year, having three years locked down for that per annum may well appeal to someone who thinks they can reach him. It's not a lot to the type of crowd who could really use a Robert. The Mets sneeze away $15 million for nothing.

Based on what he did in Phoenix, there should be no doubt that he will do what he wants to get the players he believes in most. We can see everything he spent and traded for there. Dude is not scared to be the top bidder for top talent, unlike another private equity real estate mogul in Chicago. Will he be right is a totally different question.

If teams are taking on debt to fund daily operations, there are a lot of people completely wrong about how much these small market teams are making.

He's not going to be a savior. You hope he provides replacement value, or slightly above, which in this situation would be a huge positive. Jesus Christ himself couldn't save this team.

For the record, I have no problem at all with Getz getting some credit here. It is consistent with his also getting blame for all of the failures that happened at the same time. I am not quite sure why we played some of the other clowns on the roster instead of Elko, but hopefully he does something positive. There is literally no downside. We lose nothing if he sucks, because that is what we already have.

Honestly making that easy was pretty amazing.
