29 baseball teams still have a theoretical path to win 100 games this year. The Chicago White Sox could win every single game for the entire rest of the season. (73 games) and would still only win 98 games.

A starter averging 10% above league average in ERA plus 150 innings isn't "mid-rotation" unless you call the #2 slot mid rotation. And that's not including the fielding considerations.

Congrats, you have spent about a billion dollars, and assembled a 75 win team. You are now the NY Mets, and Crochet and Fedde are leaving via free agency.

I think you also forgot that the Sox had all of Robert, Crochet, and Fedde, and were still 13.5 games out of the race on April 29th.

Peak Javy Vazquez was a 140 ERA+. Cease was a 180. When Cease was going good, he was the runner up Cy Young, Vazquez, no. Career Vazquez was a 105, Cease was a 110. I don't know what grave that the corpse of Javy Vazquez got dug up out of, but put him back this is ain't it.

Fedde plus say a Soroka or Brebbia might push up one of the prospects we get to a higher level for sure than either could get alone.

One of my favorite SoxFest stories ever was meeting Cal Eldred like a month after we traded for him from Milwaukee for Navarro. I told him how excited Sox fans were to have him here, and the guy who was sitting next to him doing security looks over at him and said "Yeah, you are the most popular guy in Chicago right now.".

The Jamie Navarro experience was it for me.

He has been really good out of the pen. I think that 100% for sure a team takes a chance on him, and it will be probably be a smaller budget team trying to get a good bargain on a guy without a big name as a reliever. There just isn't enough pitching around for teams to avoid most of our relievers. The other consideration here is that Soroka is a free agent in 3 months. He's gone, 100% for sure. Even if it is a crappy rookie league relief pitcher, the Sox take what they get for him. Personally I think they get something interesting as I explained why above.

I would just add that it isn't just one half of a season. He had a huge year last year in Korea and made arsenal changes which contributed to it. When you look at this a a year and a half instead of half a season it has a different feel, plus he is CHEAP for next year will also help that value.

Based on his numbers last year he should have been in line for a multi year deal at $10 million per season, or more. He got neither. No one wanted him. And even if he had defied the odds of pitchers skipping spring training and being decent, that probably doesn't change. It's hard not to point at the obvious reason why, but Mike Clevinger is not a wanted commodity around MLB.

I think we see a ton of pitchers moved, and not a lot of position players. For pitchers I went with Crochet, Fedde, Flexen, Kopech, Brebbia, Wilson, Banks and Soroka. Hitters, just the top 3 listed in Robert, Pham, and DeJong.
