  1. Pretty much any team in baseball could use him.
  2. As well they should be. If someone starts offering a true top 10 type of guy for either, start building around it and get it done.
  3. It probably wasn't much money and it isn't like better against the Sox brings big odds...
  4. "right" also becomes an ethical question. From a roster management standpoint, it was the right thing. From an ethical standpoint if they knew, it was an ultrashitty thing to do.
  5. I thought we learned from Clevinger that teams aren't allowed to disclose pending investigations and punishments?
  6. DFA'd first, but it absolutely makes sense.
  7. If I had to guess, I would guess this is a ramming together of a couple of different things. We heard the story about Melody Hodson probably buying somewhere around 30$ of the team a while back. It has been my feeling that this probably means she has an agreement in place with Jerry to buy at least his shares, but maybe all of the team upon his death so that Jerry gets his team sale as well as it happening at the most tax advantageous time possible. I can't see Jerry just leaving a loose end like not having a sale already prearranged as picky as he has been about who he voted to let into ownership around the league. If he allowed the Hodson thing to happen in his own group, it only makes sense that she is coming in to take over. If you think of this in the longer term context, our long term owner is already here, but the actual sale of a majority ownership of the team hasn't happened yet, just an agreement to do so. Again, totally my speculation, but it checks all of the boxes that have been talked about for years, as well as some of the more persistent rumors out there.
  8. There are three different notes in there with commas and an "or" in between. It is any of those three unique items require that vote.
  9. That's what a "sale" is.
  10. Control AND ownership (which anything over 50% would be) require a vote. We'd know.

  12. This can't be true. MLB has to vote on true ownership changes.
  13. I feel much better about our pitching depth. You have some legitimate stars potentially in the pipeline there and can more easily project a 3 to 5 year staff than we can finding 9 starting fielders in this system.
  14. Sheets will be free to a not so good home.
  15. The Sox winning the World Series killed the rivalry.

  17. It COULD. Or it could be more profitable to be on a pay network, which is pretty much what all of for profit sports has done.
  18. Is it wrong to hope a couple of specific White Sox are on this list?
