Gavin Sheets is in this position because everyone one in front of him is hurt and/or awful right now. He keeps getting chances not because they see him as special, but by attrition because he can run to 1B without getting hurt. If someone better gets developed, they will take the job. Sheets was one of the last guys on this roster.

So you aren't even worried about Gavin Sheets is going to block someone now, you are worried about him blocking someone years down the road who we haven't even acquired yet? All because he has had a decent start over 12 games? Yeah that is the definition of unnecessary panic.

I am confused as to who is this 1B that a short term moderately successful Gavin Sheets has you afraid of blocking. I have to say that panicking about Gavin Sheets being good enough to block someone is a new level of Sox fan achievement I did not expect to see this year.

That's just it. It isn't the same three players getting hurt every year. It is more than that. But we only talk about three of them.

Nothing to evaluate. The trainers aren't the problem, it is the Latin players who are lazy. At least that is the story that keeps sliding into the wannabe medias DMs.
