  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 04:46 PM) I was hoping the Bears would put a claim on him, but even if they did I guess the Chiefs would get first bid anyways, I wonder who else goes on waivers and if the Bears plan to make a move? Probably not, but you never know They could have the best receivers in football and it wouldn't matter. Cutler doesn't have time to get them the football anyway.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) I didnt think his season was that bad QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) I wouldn't call PK's season bad. For a guy making $12 million to hit homers, it was bad.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 04:15 PM) You still think of Damon as a leadoff hitter? Better than anything we have now.
  4. QUOTE (striker62704 @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 06:06 PM) Alot of people didn't think Beckham was ready either. I'm not saying Danks is ready, I'm just saying. I think it takes a great spring training and take that into June for us to consider bringing him up. And even then he'd have to have a spot available. There is a big gap between their numbers.
  5. QUOTE (lostfan @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) Yes, that is on par with a co-worker saying "the Constitution is 14 pages and this healthcare bill is 1100 pages" as if he was making a point. I thought it was almost 2000 pages?
  6. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 02:51 PM) I'd look to trade Paulie for a pitcher and a relief arm, and move Danksy and a few pieces for A-Gon. I find neither to be very probable. You aren't going to get much in this market for a guy with a 12 million dollar salary coming off of a bad season at his age.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 01:41 PM) Carl was in the last Playgirl - true story. Dear Playgirl... My friend has this problem...
  8. 1. The Beatles The end.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 11:18 AM) I also don't think the Mariners are going to be trading Felix any time soon. It just depends on whether they revert back to the late 90s, early 2000s where they dealt Griff and Johnson and obviously couldn't resign ARod, or if they'll go with what they did recently by resigning Ichiro. The Mariners have control of him through 2011, so they have time to make a decision. If they can't hook Felix up long term, now is the time to deal him. We saw what the market for ace pitcher was with the deals for Peavy, and the proposals for Doc.
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 12:21 PM) who was getting in people's faces in 05? Timo? Carl Everett? AJ?
  11. QUOTE (Tex @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 09:30 AM) If it is a team in the AL Central, I'd think the chances are from least likely to most likely Royals>Sox>Twins>Indians>Tigers And if there is some misrepresentation in the article, a little misdirection, I could see some team in the east, not NYY or Bos, perhaps looking at the gate possibilities with Manny in their uniform. Edit to add: my best guess is Manny or his agent planted the story, possibly his current team. For my money, the Twins are last, and the Royals are a step above. Let me put it this way, who was the last big named player the Twins have brought in?
  12. If we are in the market for a leadoff hitter, Damon should come cheaper than Figgins.
  13. Danks has about a zero chance of making the team this spring. That being said, if he has a good summer next year, I could see him getting a cup of coffee in September. That is the soonest I see him having a chance at making it.
  14. Eventually he will figure this internets out.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 07:50 AM) I dont want to glaze over the fact that this guy had the balls to ask some really tough questions, nice article. He was asking a reporter. Its not like he was asking someone who had a personal stake in things. That makes a big difference.
  16. He does have a point, especially on that team.
  17. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 02:45 PM) Don't know how long it will last, or what legal ground they think they can stand on in doing this, but bluebeat.com has posted the entire remastered Beatles catalog for unlimited free streaming as well as 25-cent per/song mp3 purchases. Wow, those are great prices!
  18. Yeah, its easy to talk s*** when you are standing behind hall of famers. And Rondo is just the low-life to do it.
  19. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Nov 3, 2009 -> 06:53 AM) It wasn't something to do with Trebek's mother was it? It was Aaron Burr actually.
  20. XXX rated stuff, if you are in the Buffy fan club anyway.
  21. Unless they are vampire death bats.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) I think you're perhaps misunderstanding the frustration Democrats have with someone like Lieberman. Lieberman lost a primary to a more liberal Democrat in 2006. He made a deal with the Democratic leadership that he would caucus and be a team player on "everything but the war." He even went on record, during his election campaign of supporting universal health care. And he ran again in the General and won, because the Democratic party all but turned its back on their nominee in CT. Since that point, Lieberman has been more interested in kingmaking and grandstanding than he has been to staying true to his constituents and his own principles. He doesn't belong to the Democratic party, but maintains a chairmanship that he only has at the indulgence of the majority caucus. If he is going to consistently throw roadblocks to the caucus, and violate his promises to the Democratic party time and again - the very promise he made to stay in office - he should lose his gavel and get shoved right back to the back bench. There are plenty of moderate Democrats who are valued by the leadership of the party. Evan Bayh and Jon Tester for example. Jim Webb, Blanche Lincoln, Ben Nelson. Mark Prior, Mary Landrieu, Kent Conrad, Byron Dorgan, Tom Carper. And that's just in the Senate. Wonderful. So the party of inclusion made him promise to fall into line. That is much better.
  23. Sit on it Potsi.
  24. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Nov 2, 2009 -> 08:46 PM) There's a big difference between a Specter and a Lieberman. Specter joined the party, Lieberman left the party. He is bragging about there being room for people who think differently, while they condemn people who think differently.
