  1. This is one of the least surprising things this offseason if you have been paying attention.
  2. I completely dropped the Blackhawks after them protecting a molester. I was following less than ever anyway, but that was a line I couldn't cross. Packed up my gear in a box, quit watching and listening to games, etc. The hire of TLR got me watching and going to fewer games than I had ever gone to in the past.
  3. So because the Royals didn't act like the Sox an internally promote their own guy, there is something wrong. Makes total sense.
  4. His 2022 stat line is at an OPS at less than Leury Garcia's career numbers.
  5. So Cleveland losing a 10 game advantage is worse for the Sox. Beautiful.
  6. So here is the thing, with the rebalancing of the schedule, while we play more of the other division teams, we still only have to be better than the teams in our division to make the playoffs. Where it will actually hurt is the teams who got fat off of beating their own division, and not against the others. if you look at the games breakdown, the Sox and Cleveland had identical records against teams outside of their divisions in the AL. Cleveland gained 10 games by being better against the AL Central, and 1 by being a single game better than the Sox against the NL. Now some of those games are going away. I think what this means is that instead of being a low to mid 90's win team, it is going to be more like 85 or 86 games to win the division, and the Guards biggest advantage was just neutralized.
  7. No, I am failing to see how sighting one of the best players in the world and a glove glover as a failure makes any sense for the point you are trying to make.
  8. Like I said in the initial post, I was even trying to get past the older international signings to focus in on just the 16 year old crowd.
  9. So Tatis being a $300 million player and Yolmer being a gold glove second basemen are bad things and not signs of progress internationally?
  10. That has always been his calling card. The bat was the thing that was doubted.
  11. The podcast said he could actually skip Kanny and go straight to Winston.
  12. Boston would eat half the contract to get a gigantic return. Seeing what pitchers are getting paid in this off season, Chris Sale under $20 million and on a short term deal has a ton of value. If there are multiple teams interested, that is only going to increase the bidding.
  13. So even discarding the Cuban signings such as Chapelli, Mena, Vera and company, seeing these lists, it seems the Sox are actually building a Latin American operation which might be finally starting to pay off. Bryan Ramos is a top 3 player on the top lists. Lenyn Sosa got a call up, and is getting some hype as a potential starter, Carlos Perez also got a call up, and is currently sitting 3rd in the catcher depth chart with a potentially toasted Yas Grandal in front of him. Jose Rodriguez is getting the same kind of level of thought as Sosa. The hype train seems to be starting on Ryan Burrowes. Erick Hernandez didn't have a great year at 16, but is thought of a potential breakout and high ceiling player. Guys like Luis Meises, Darrio Barrero, and Wil Veras and getting talk as players with a loud tool who could break out with some other advancements.
  14. After watching the free agent market I can confidently say that Chris Sale won't be cheap. There is no reason for him to be cheap anymore.
