  1. After watching the re-run of the bus crash episode from the end of last season of House, I am ready to see this show again. The other sad thing is that ER is entering its last season. I know the show is a shell of its former self, but I still have watched it for a long, long time.
  2. Love it or hate it, but the Sox aren't going to go anywhere forcing the same arm or two to pitch out of the pen everyday. If no one else can step up, this isn't a playoff team anyway.
  3. Greatest song ever...
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:38 AM) I was poking fun at the McCain camp's attempt at painting Obama as a celebrity. I know, its lost on me. The stupid stuff said by campaigns is a complete waste of time. Its a distraction from the things that really matter. I am not a lock-step McCainiac, so I don't mind calling him wrong for what he saids.
  5. So when is the housewarming party, and what flight are you paying for?
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:37 AM) I thought being a celebrity was a bad quality for being President? Ask Ronald Reagan about that one...
  7. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:28 AM) He ran a half-assed campaign. He seemed to think he could get by on popularity. Which is really too bad. We have essentially turned our Presidential process into a popularity contest. Heck its sad but, we have become Cub fans when it comes to electing a President. How many people watched his speech? How many people are at the convention? Who is sitting in the front row? Who gives a s***? None of that matters.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 07:27 AM) The article was dripping with sarcasm, its factual basis wasn't really the point. Sarcasm works better if there is factual basis to it...
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:09 AM) LINK I quit reading when the guys very first point wasn't true.
  10. I still wish Fred Thompson would have been our nominee. Its too bad people would rather be dazzled versus having some solid policy discussions and the like, because Thompson had by far the best ideas and the most substance in this campaign cycle.
  11. I will post some stories about the situation, and I would be curious to hear what people think about it? http://www.suntimes.com/news/education/110...l081108.article http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/clout_...-backs-law.html http://www.suntimes.com/news/education/113...s090208.article http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...0,2360735.story
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 04:32 PM) I guarantee you if Pawlenty was picked, none of this would be happening. He was a common name who ran a good state and had known opinions on a national stage. McCain opened pandora's box. This isn't bad journalism, this is what you'd expect. She made no real opinions in her first speech. When everyone is going "who the hell is this person" you can't blame people for going up to find who the hell she is. So this great pick is completely overshadowing the GOP convention that was already overshadowed by a hurricane. but it's the liberal media, this tried and true argument that you mr. genius feels in his gut but can rarely prove. You're right, this has been a poor election coverage year...by the AP. They've been the worst. The AP's story was a one source tidbit from McCain's head of vetting, when the rest of the newspapers in their country not run by Fornier are all saying the same thing "we didn't know". If McCain did know, why the inconsistent answers? Why? This was pretty much Obama a couple of years ago... the only different being he had a little more time to sell his story.
  13. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Well I'm not leaving this area because of my job, and I doubt you could match these prices. 1014 sq feet for $72k I got my 1400 sq ft house for $81k in 05.
  14. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) If people are really going to base thier vote on Diddy's political analysis, then we really need to reconsider somehow limiting people's rights to vote. People that f***ing stupid barely deserve to breathe, much less vote, drive, breed.......... Vote or die b****
  15. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 04:07 PM) Government to the rescue has saved up a lot of pain. And caused tons more...
  16. I am usually optimistic, but I will admit the urine is creeping down my leg as we speak.
  17. They have already said that his first couple/few pitching appearences will be in blowouts or garbage time.
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 02:05 PM) MacDougall has really turned things around as of late and he looked absolutely phenomenal last night. He could turn into a major factor with the Sox bullpen getting crap figured out and inevitably with the Sox making the playoffs. I say that because a MacDougall that pitches close to his potential immediately becomes the Sox 2nd or 3rd best reliever (Thorty/Jenks). MM pitching like he did at his best is second only to Jenks in our pen, IMO.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:49 PM) No, but there is a 15 second clip on youtube of all his hits this season. How long had you been waiting to use that one?
  20. So is there any real report on how Mike was looking at AAA before he got called up? I have seen his numbers over the last month or so, but those don't always tell the real story? Is his fastball back? Is his control there at all? Any chance he can be close to his former self and give us another reliable right handed set up guy in case Linebrink isn't 100%?
  21. That would kill the single biggest highlight of the Olympics for me.
  22. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 01:04 PM) The William Ayers story broke in February, not last week. Why would a scandal that broke 6 months ago get the same attention today as a new development in a brand new face in the election? Personally I'd rather them track down the real Tony Rezko story, but that is just me. Hearing the Justice Department might be quietly interviewing him brings my hopes up.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 12:45 PM) So I searched Levi Johnston, found a strange webpage: http://levijohnston.com/Blog/ Now I know that cant be real, but its odd that it has posts about all of the Palin daughter stuff prior to her mother even being selected as VP... Now there may be a way to make the posts appear to be older, but the one about meeting Bristol is from a year ago. http://levijohnston.com/Blog/disclosure/
  24. So with Crude at about $110 a barrel, it is actually closer to the lows of the past 52 weeks versus the high...
  25. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Sep 2, 2008 -> 11:59 AM) His connection to William Ayers consists of one $200 donation to a state senate reelection fund in 2001 while serving on a board with him for a group that works to overcome poverty in Chicagoland. I guess that is highly controversial. A google news search shows that it has come up in the media 1,623 times in the past month. The story broke in February. Something tells me in a week, very few people will mention Palin's daughter. Or care. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/lyford-bevera...elevant-stories Keep in mind that only one of these has been news for longer than a couple of days...
