  1. So you have nothing? Firing Rick Hahn isn't a JR approved move.
  2. I will even give you hindsight here. What JR approved moves could the Sox have taken to make that mess into a playoff team in a shorter period of time than the rebuild did?
  3. How can you look at what we were doing then and think that WAS the answer? We did get 2 playoff appearances, which was more than we had seen since 2008.
  4. The tanking part was just fine. The returns for the players they dealt were about as good as could be. The problem was execution. We didn't draft well, and we sure didn't take advantage internationally after Robert. We also didn't take advantage of all of that savings to lock in players to our weakspots. Besides, running around in neutral wasn't working. We had done it for years.
  5. Look if this was a team with a history of spending, sure, be patient. But we are here precisely because team DIDN'T follow up on its promise to invest once the team was good.
  6. Yoan is pretty much the canary in the coal mine here. Of all of the players we need recovery from, he is the one that may well show up as an indicator as to how good this managerial team is.
  7. I would be really curious as to how this would look.
  8. That's the thing about Yoan. He's done it at the major league level. Even his 2021 he was a 4 WAR/fWAR player.
  9. That top 5 to top 10 looks pretty solid. But the problem isn't really there, it is in the 11-30 range having no real depth, and just a bunch of low odds lottery tickets.
  10. I mean at the end of the day, I basically spent nothing on the Sox in the last two years compared to what I typically do. I think it was one game each season, plus one playoff game. Typically I am more in the half dozen range, mostly in premium seating. Last year I did try look into buying a suite for a game last year and couldn't get the sales staff to get back to me. That money ended up basically being the down payment for a Disney Vacation Club mortgage. Their loss. At the end of the day, I am not buying anything for next season unless this team acts like I should spend money on them. If not, there are tons of other premium events I can spend my money on. And I will.
  11. If the Sox budget it tapped, so is mine. Plenty of other things to do in Chicago next year. Zahi Hawass is doing a national speaking tour next year to start with.
