  1. Another interesting project to watch is Blue Cross/Blue Shield getting 30ish more floors on top of its exsisting structure. Because of its locations right on the northern end of Millenium Park it is an easy one to watch the progress of.
  2. Happy belated Birthday Ian
  3. QUOTE (Texsox @ May 12, 2008 -> 06:01 AM) I'm not going to start placing comparative values on the lives saved. I frankly had never heard of the country before. People are people. Losing the supplies was a terrible event, no matter which starving person was going to benefit or who was going to get credit from the citizens. The earlier comment was the loss of this shipment was infinitesimal compared to the government's actions. The loss of what amounted to about 20% of the aid that was currently in the country is huge. I believe the argument on who gets credit for the food is dangerous on both sides. If the government wants their labels on this stuff, label it here in the US with their label and start shipping. That's probably because you have always known it as Burma...
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2008 -> 08:32 PM) According to general manager Bill Smith, Pat Neshek is expected to miss at least three months and may be sidelined for the remainder of the season with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. Smith said that Neshek won't be allowed to throw for at least three months and added that getting him healthy in time for spring training is the Twins' current goal. Losing Neshek is a huge blow to the Twins' bullpen, as he's gone 11-5 with a 2.91 ERA and 142/37 K/BB ratio in 120 2/3 career innings. Matt Guerrier and Juan Rincon will split setup duties in front of Joe Nathan. That is a huge loss for the Twins. The guy has been a rock as a set up man.
  5. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ May 9, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) Oh boy. If this had been McCain, there would have been endless talk about senility setting in. The media would be passing out from the orgasms over the stories they could write! Instead, i guess we'll just hear that he was 'tired' or something along those lines. 57 states! NOT counting Alaska and Hawaii. 57 states>Sunni vs Shia

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 2, 2008 -> 09:41 AM) The reason I say it was was Jacob is the screen caps that have been posted when Ben and Locke "meet" Jacob for the 1st time. At one point, there is a body is the chair. It looks very similar to the same guy. It is Jack's dad. I checked the screencaps for it.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 9, 2008 -> 12:46 PM) 325 was what Ben gave Michael and Walt to find rescue, correct? Do you think the freighter is what rescued them? I'm curious if we have seen the last of Walt. 305 could be from a different spot. I'm not familiar with how all that works. The last thing that Abaddon said to Locke was that he would owe him in the future, or something to that effect. After tonight's episode and the previews for next week, I'm pulling a Mariotti and flip flopping. I think Jin will be killed by Reamey. That guy is relentless. 325 was also what Daniel said as well IIRC.

Did anyone else notice that the ship capitian gave Sayid the wrong bearing to get to the island? He told him 305, and it was 325.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 9, 2008 -> 09:34 AM) $126.20. Scarier is that the gasoline futures were over $3.20 at one point.
  11. QUOTE (YASNY @ May 9, 2008 -> 08:50 AM) Yes. That was a thing of beauty. I'm a big person on making your own breaks. I'd much rather see this team taking the extra base, taking out the relay throw etc, than running into the occasional HR. That tells me more about the pulse of this team, than any 500 foot homer does. The last couple days have really told me that this team intends to stick around, and they really believe that they can.
  12. He can't be serious. That was horrible.
  13. Little things like that takeout slide are what can really get a team going. I was almost happier to see that, versus Juan's two run dinger.
  14. There is no one even close to CQ offensively. You can make arguements for all three pitchers on that list, but I went with Danks.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 8, 2008 -> 05:14 PM) NASA to Announce Success of Long Galactic Hunt WASHINGTON -- NASA has scheduled a media teleconference Wednesday, May 14, at 1 p.m. EDT, to announce the discovery of an object in our Galaxy astronomers have been hunting for more than 50 years. This finding was made by combining data from NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory with ground-based observations. Interesting. I wonder what it is? Dark matter maybe?
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 9, 2008 -> 07:23 AM) Ya, I wasn't that big of a fan either. I was kinda diappointed too. I expected more with the combination of Scrubs and the Princess Bride. Maybe it will play better in reruns?

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 9, 2008 -> 12:21 AM) Sort of on that same topic, what was the book Richard showed Locke as a young boy? http://bp1.blogger.com/_Hxnvg45zlCw/SCPC28...+10-16-5110.jpg Google "lost easter eggs" and they give screencaps for EVERYTHING you could ever want.
  18. He HAS to run here, and quick.
  19. Rincon is only hitting 91-92 on his fastball according to MLB gamecast... looks like someone is missing the juice...
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 8, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) That is about as dominant a relief outing as you'll see. Wow, but the 8th is going to be very difficult. Time for Thornton to earn his paycheck.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 8, 2008 -> 01:53 PM) Completely agree. Came in with lots of upside and a top prospect from Texas and so far this year appears to have made significant strides already. He's young. We will have him for a while, no sense in treating him carelessly like a certain manager on the other side of town. With a young promising lefty, better safe than sorry. No doubt. There is plenty of history to show that the Sox are doing this the right way. Its different for everyone else in the rotation, because they have all logged at least 180 innings in a season. Danks is no where close to that, and they don't want him having a second half breakdown, or worse yet, Mark Prior syndrome.
  22. Sounds like Danks is being effective again. 4IP 4K 3H 0R 1BB
  23. I'd still rather have Anderson

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 8, 2008 -> 10:33 AM) The thing with Richard to me has always been the biggest question on the show. There is no way makeup just got lazy and didn't age him. There was a reason he looked the same after all those years, and while it's pretty in depth, this guy brings up an interesting theory.... it would also go a long way towards explaining why Ben had to ask what year it was when he was in the desert.
  25. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 8, 2008 -> 11:07 AM) Who the Hell cares what a candidate does to improve their appearance? Why does this matter at all? Is John McCain a wuss because he has makeup put on to make his head look less shiny when he's appearing on TV? I agree one hundred per cent here. This is one area where sexism is still really prevalent in our society. Do you hear anyone talking about Obama hiding gray hair, or McCains wrinkles? Yet there is an entire webpage of horrible pictures of Hillary. Of all of the reasons I don't like Hillary Clinton, who really gives a s*** what she looks like or what she does to cover it up?
