  2. LF in Houston is probably the smallest LF in baseball. If you are going to play an awful LF with no range, that is a great place to do it. Plus those guys are all really good at knowing the home town bounces and throwing out what would be doubles in any other park at 2B.
  3. There was a very early report out there that Espada wasn't impressed with the Sox, but the Sox were impressed with him. No idea how true this was, or if this is even a factor, but it is something that stuck in my mind.
  4. This is where I keep getting stuck. We haven't had a normal winter and spring training in three years now. Injuries were up majorly the last few years over historic and recent norms. The question is how much of this is because of that, and how much of this is because of the Sox programming. That I have no idea how to answer.
  5. I don't know what kind of a teacher he is, but he is a guy who definitely knew how to hit. That's a start.
  6. Because the Sox had a ton of leadoff hitter choices? TA might not be ideal, but there is sure no one better currently on this team.
  7. Right now I think my two personal favorites are Washington and Long. Why? They both have histories of being really good at things we have been really bad at in recent years. Our baseball IQ is among the worst in baseball. Washington is a guy who is known for his teams playing smart, clean, and top notch defensive baseball. That alone could add a lot of wins to this team. I know Washington is dog s%*# as a person, but with the White Sox, that sure doesn't disqualify you. Long has been a top notch hitting coach for a long time, and this is a team who has had zero approach for a while now. Again, just getting guys back to their historic norms, and not even to their ceilings and potential adds a lot of wins to this roster. That isn't to say I am against a guy like Espada, but I don't know his track record the way the other two stand out.
  8. Yes they did, at least for now.
  9. This is the most insecure and judgemental take on Soxfest I have ever seen. Why worry so much about what Sox fans find entertainment in?
  10. That rebuild was popular. This one would not be.
  11. The other thing this could mean is that a real sell off is about to happen, so no one will be left for the Fest.
  12. More like who they can trust and such. Think more low level.
  13. The Q anon in me swears the Sox are selectively leaking s%*# rumors to see who talks and to burn sources and leaks. There is so many people claiming inside knowledge who are telling completely different stories that something more has to be going on.
  14. Done right, it is a great time.
  15. I am reminded of some old NWA lyrics... How'd he go out? He went out like a b****!
