  1. Seems like the Sox decided to wait around and see whose prices dropped late. The MiLB deals give them some more options and time to decide.
  2. Oh right. One more pick to work around some cash with. Good thinking.
  3. Would 2 HS picks that soon work under the caps?
  4. Oh he has a plan. It's just not one he is going to say out loud. He is clearing deadweight and payroll while filling in with minimalist players, while hoping to maximize a young talent pool.
  5. I opened this in a new tab and finally set aside some time to read this during the Super Bowl. There have been a lot of posts in this thread, but none of them have included anywhere NEAR this amount of quality information and research. I don't know who wrote it, but kudos to them for the work they put in. Honestly, it almost has to be someone who works for the city, the county, the state, the White Sox, Related Reality, or someone being paid by them.
  6. There is that name calling. Look, you want in, let's go ban bet. If the Sox only sign these four players, I am banned. When the Sox sign more, you are banned.
  7. This is the story about this year's hold up. https://theathletic.com/5231394/2024/01/27/mlb-age-falsification-identity-fraud-dominican-republic/ Also in the White Sox signing tweet, they did announce that there were more signings to come.
  8. Love the Pirates diving in the White Sox dumpster.
  9. Some people are just too fragile. Disagree with them and they passive aggressively cry about it for years. Oh wait Hahahahaha
  10. I wonder if the Yanks would be willing to discount Dominguez with the major injury and surgery?
  11. Did he just figure this out? Welcome to last decade.
  12. You could have just quit with "No one is going to a White Sox game"
  13. It's not realistic anyway. It's 2024. Brick building is way more expensive then traditional ones these day.
  14. While Tray is in lunar orbit on this one, Comiskey had it's brick facade before Wrigley and Bill Veeck planted Wrigley's Ivy.
  15. And we don't come close to filling those lots 90% of the time.
  16. See, the scary $50 million is gone before a new stadium would be open. The Bears on the other end owe a fuckton more.
  17. And a lot of others who will lose that time in their commute. Also of note, I could actually easily take a train to the game, where I never could in the past. The electric line stops at Roosevelt and Michigan. The walk wouldn't be any longer than the walk from some of the Sox remote lots is currently.
  18. It sounds like A LOT of that franchise did not get along with Bill. There might be some gains to be made just from that.
  19. And anyone coming from the north and west will lose that 10-15 minutes.
  20. Anyone, including myself, coming from the southside or Indiana is going to see their commute go up by 10-15 minutes. Guess what, this is still a huge net positive.
  21. Cause we have been fans of this franchise for longer than 15 minutes?
  22. You have a whole spring training for this stuff to sort itself out. There will be some injuries and guys who play themselves out of jobs. It would be a dream to have to make hard choices because it means multiple guys out played themselves to make it tough.
  23. We waived him off of the 40 man roster, but apparently no one claimed him.
  24. That or one of the Latin kids goes full He Who Shall Not be Named, but I think the odds of both are single digit percentages at best.
