Parking Pass Question
QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) Found this: Exit/Parking: Cash customers and fans holding a green coupon, proceed to 35th Street exit and follow signs to "Sox Parking." Fans holding a red parking coupon, exit at 31st street and follow signs for "Red Coupons." If 35th Street exit is temporarily closed due to heavy traffic, proceed to 39th Street exit. Cash customers or fans holding green coupons, turn right and follow signs to "Sox Parking." Fans holding red coupons turn left on 39th street and follow signs for "Red Coupons." ****************************************************************** Does green mean any lot and red is specific lots? From the sounds of it, the Red coupons are for the season ticket lots. If they make you get off at 31st, you are going to be in lots A,B or C, which are on the north side of the stadium. If this is where you park try to get as far north into lot A as you can as that will get you on to the Ryan the quickest.

Ozzie's odd use of the bullpen today
I swear it doesn't matter what he does, people complain. Ozzie managed this game to win this game. He wanted to make sure we did not get swept, which is a departure for his normal manage to win the season technique. Plain and simple he wanted to win this game, and he put his best pitchers out there to do so.

To be honest, if they could actually eliminate the nuetral zone trap mentality, the game would be exciting enough to the layman that they wouldn't really miss fighting. Personally knowing a couple of goons and actually hearing the way it is done, it reminds me a lot of the way the HBP was used in the old days as a way to patrol the game. Linger too long after a HR? You got a ball coming into your ear. Take a cheap shot on the star Center? Its time to drop the gloves.

8/4 Games
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 07:26 AM) Bull's working hard to come back from his injury I see. GO BULL! From what he told me a couple of weeks ago, he sounds like he is back to full strength now. When healthy a guy like that is invaluable to a team as he does everything from start, to spot start, to long reliever, to middle reliver, to set up man, to close. He did it all at Bham, and it seems like he is going to do it all at Charlotte.

Sep 1 00:00AM - playoff bound roster
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) You can call up 15 players. The rosters expand from 25 to 40, you call players up who are currently on your 40 man roster. Anderson will be up here in September. Anderson is not on the 40 man roster.

8/4 Games
Great outing for Bull. I would have to imagine after only working 6 innings in the last month that the wheels came off in the fifth inning after he got tired. Great job none the less.

Who writes checks anymore?
QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 04:10 AM) 100% checks, b****es!!! And for the sake of hammerhead and ss2k5's busy busy busy lives , I write everything out on the check before I even GET to the checkout line, and write the total in the ledger when I get home. I don't know why I haven't gone debit card yet - I think maybe it's too easy to use the debit card, and I need some inconvenience to keep my impulse buying in check! and Mike, you should get Wi-Fi so you could post while you wait for those slow check-writers to finish up their transactions.... If it wasn't for inconsiderate assholes like you I would be to 50,000 posts already. Now about this Wi-Fi... I need a lap top first, so I am going to start a donation fund. If you want to see more Southsider posts, send money to this paypal account Spamfund50000@aol.com Thank you.

I had to throw this into the "hockey players who kick people's asses" thread... The Pittsburgh Penguins signed former Ottawa, Tampa Bay, and Fort Wayne Komet tough guy Andre Roy to a 3 year 3 million dollar deal to protect #1 pick Sidney Crosby. Hopefully for Pens fans sake, they are a pretty good team and no one wears bags over their heads to games...

Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Bonanza Thread
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) The latest rumor mill I have heard is that the Hawks are going after Eric Lindros. Hard. UGH. GLASSBOY... ohhhh GLASSBOY... /hopefully some of you will get that. If Lindros is 2 years 2.5 mil, you have to give him a shot. At that money, anything you get from him is gravy.

Chicago Blackhawks Offseason Bonanza Thread
QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) I disagree here. You guys love Khabibulin too much. Is he good? Yes. Is he an upgrade over Thibault? Yes. But, goaltending isnt our problem. Keith, we need the top line player more than we need Khabibulin. Period. Love Bulin too much? Now that's rich. This guy could carry Eddie Belfour, have room for Joc TBo on the other shoulder while still making a glove save.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) Banks get it wrong. A lot. If you don't reconcile your statements, you're asking to get ripped off. I reconcile on-line, and I know my banks 800# by heart.

- 08-04-05 - Jays @ Sox -
QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) Yeah we'll have to do this. Gload is better defensively at first than Konerko and there is not really any other choice. I dont want Borchard up here and Anderson will not be ready. Then we have 4 only OFers on the roster. That won't happen. With Willie not here, and Gload not able to play the OF the only other guy who can is Timo. Gload would not be the call up. Period. And whoever is called up will not be starting, it will be Timo Perez.

QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) For all of you adults out there, would you be pissed if your child got a speeding ticket? Is it your insurance policy or are you on theirs? If it was my policy, I would be pissed.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) Gload. Supposedly Gload still can't play the OF, I don't think they would short themselves that much in the OF. I am guessing it will be Borchard. Its funny with the guys who wanted Carl out of the line up... Becareful what you wish for, as you just might get it.
-
- 08-04-05 - Jays @ Sox -
The scary thing if you look at their numbers side by side Anderson and Borchard are nearly identical outside of their batting averages.

- 08-04-05 - Jays @ Sox -
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) bye bye Borchard though Mark my words. If Carl Everett needs a DL trip, Anderson WILL NOT be the call up. The one move they could make is to 60 day DL Frank to open up a spot, but it doesn't seem like they want to do that, or they would have already.

QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Dammit. Ozzie always takes Cotts out early and lets every one else finish the inning. Does he not like Cotts or something. If someone gets on base for Cotts he always takes him out. And it didnt look like Cotts was happy with Ozzie. He treats his relievers different than his starters. His relievers have no rope. The starters have it all.
