GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) If by morbid, you mean vast and if by humor, you mean penis size. I take it that is what you meant, right?

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:51 PM) Marte has hardly been used this year. When you have less innings than innings pitched no one can ever use that excuse ( not saying you did but i see it alot on here) Marte could have started the inning if we wanted to keep the game either close or what do you know, win it. Walker coming in = an automatic loss. Less innings than innings pitched? I take it you mean games vs IP, right?

QUOTE(whitesoxjr27 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) well if he kicks him in the balls then he cant steal bases. He'll think long and hard about dropping a routine flyball then won't he?

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) If Gload is at 1st base, it's a tie ball-game. or Konerko. That is the hilarious part about the Konerko sucks crowd. They got their wish tonight, and he was on the bench. Once again, be careful what you wish for.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Quoting Hawk and DJ: DJ: "Nice play by an outfielder who's playing first base." Hawk: "Best thing about that, He's not gonig to turn two anyways" DJ: "He's playing out of position. He's got the one costly error, but he's making everything look easy out there" It's f***ing repulsive how much they slob this guys knob. That is exactly my biggest complaint about these two guys.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) Last time I looked, there were more than 2 relievers on a team. Sure there are. And to want the combination of horrible Cubs pen preformances over what the Sox have done is hilarious. How many games have the Cubs pen given away vs what the Sox have done? What is our record in one run games? Where do the Sox rank in team relief points? (2nd) But you would rather have the Cubs pen? Come on. I know you are mad, but wow, at least be rational.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) Lately, don't forget the season as a whole now. Michael Wuertz - 4.01 ERA Mike Remlinger - 4.97 ERA Ryan Dempster - 4.95 ERA As a WHOLE, Cubs relievers have won 11 games and lost 14. And you can throw in all of the fire jobs that Hawkins did as well.

how many of you armchair managers would've benched
QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:31 PM) Uuum, did he not just hit a HR? b**** about Timo and Walker and benching Gooch....leave Cruddy alone. That is the point dude. I think he is saying if it was up to all of the Crede haters, he wouldn't have been in to hit those two HRs.

Our manager is clueless with the bullpen
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) So you'd rather have the likes of Joe Borowski and Ryan Dempster over Dustin Hermanson and Cliff Politte? That's exactly what I was thinking... wow what an overreaction.

GAME THREAD 6-1-2005 SOX VS HALOS
QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 08:22 PM) So Timo takes the strikes, and swings at the balls? Why can't he just leave already....and take his boyfriend Ozzie with him. Neither of those last two called strikes have been called all night. That is crap.

Well we need three runs and basically have six outs to do it with. This is the go inning.

I don't get using Walker to start that inning at all. You don't use a guy who hasn't pitched in 12 days and is the last man out of your pen in a one run game. I would much rather see them start the inning with Shingo or Vizcaino and then use Walker in a key situation.

Guiliani to start new hockey league
Sounds like they have some backers... this could get off of the ground. Afterall it is the players that make a league, not the owners or arenas.

*Official* Eric Chavez Speculation/Dream Thread
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Joe Randa >>> Vinny Castilla. I don't much care for Randa, but I would agree with that. I would much rather see the Sox make a deal for Randa vs Castilla.

*Official* Eric Chavez Speculation/Dream Thread
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:36 PM) Nobody is comparing Chavez directly to Vinny. Can you read for crying out loud? I have always said I would rather have Vinny + another stud than Chavez. It is all about value (defined as performance/$). Do you even get that? Actually you did in this post.

France Rejects EU
QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 1, 2005 -> 03:44 PM) but you'll never hear them say that.... Actually, they're happy with the dollar in this range - from what little I understand about currency exchanges. If it were too fall too much, it could cause some serious damage to the economy. Both here and world wide. A lot of economists say we're near the tipping point where the Euro becomes the currency of choice for reserves across the globe - mostly because of our massive debt issues. I could have bought that if the EU would have pushed the consititution through. With the history of Europe, it isn't hard to see them desending into factional fighting between the haves and have nots, which would be way worse than the US debt issues. Economically it could be the right choice, but politically, I am going to say not.
