  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ May 31, 2005 -> 08:54 PM) Why did I even bother? :headshake Yeah, now you will have to do your own homework...OH the humanity
  2. We already have Raul Mondesi... he is named Jermaine Dye. No thanks.
  3. Frank Thomas at age 27, not 37.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:41 PM) I am completely fine with this policy. If you make the f***heads chase their beer, one of two things will happen: They will either drink less, or be away from their seats for a while as they chase the beer. Either situation is a winner for those who suffer around them. I'll gladly get a beer from a stand myself - it's a fair exchange. No doubt about it. The idiots forced this policy, not the Sox. If morons could handle their beer, this would have never happened.
  5. Is there a question here? What's next, who is better Carrie Woods or Mark Buehrle?
  6. QUOTE(olp_nch @ May 31, 2005 -> 06:40 PM) Thanks for the advice guys... It sounds like I will go about getting tickets right off the Sox webpage. I am amazed at how much more expensive it is compared to Twins tickets. Granted the dome sux! The thing is they are cheap compared to teams like the Cubs, Red Sox and Yankees.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ May 31, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) I like it. He probably trashed himself too. No doubt about it. Ozzie has always been honest when he sucked too as a player, I have no doubt he would confide in his team if he sucked as a manager.
  8. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) I figured you probably wouldn't have a real response. Yes you are so cute, I could just pinch your cheeks. Have you tried actually reading the sites policies? One quick indicator that something is wrong, is when I start getting PMs and and emails with links to your posts, of which yours have been a reoccuring theme lately. Soxtalk policy \/ That is from August of last year. This has been around for quite a while, and has been enforced plenty here, trust me (really way more than any of us would ever want to do). And before you go off on the martyr complex, like so many before you have done before know this much, just because we don't make big blazing announcements of warnings and suspensions doesn't mean it doesn't happen. We try to keep disipline issues quiet out of respect for the people involved. The funny thing was that the post wasn't even that outlandish, just simply over the line. Instead of just understanding that there was no need for posts like that, you wanted the attention of making a big deal out of it... well now you got your attention, congratulations. The policy is up there, I am sorry if you don't agree with it, but it has worked about as well as anything could have for us.
  9. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) I mean, let's get our arbitrary lines in the sand straight here. Look dude, if you can't see the difference between "Terrible topics today" and "you f***ing topic elitists crack me up. IT'S AN INTERNET BULLETIN BOARD. GROW THE f*** UP." its not worth wasting time on.
  10. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:31 PM) I'm sorry, did I offend your sensitive side? I'm sorry, did I stutter? You are not allowed to make attacks like that on here.
  11. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) you f***ing topic elitists crack me up. IT'S AN INTERNET BULLETIN BOARD. GROW THE f*** UP. Speaking of growing up, that is way out of line.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) Hes just about the best bat out there to add at this point in the season. Best hitter to ever play in chicago and a godly OBP. I think it might work out. And what good does that do us if he is hurt again? I am really nervous that we seem to be laying the offensive woes of this team on a guy who just turned 37, has had two year ending injuries in five years, and is in such bad shape right now that he threw out his hip running "too fast". Sure if Frank can play he should be better than what we have had, but we are back to square one if he struggles or gets hurt again.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) not as much as I hate A-rows commercial with that stupid devil. I loved win or die trying, and the commericals that went with them, up until that commerical. The devil commercial is terrible.
  14. What's that I smell? A lawsuit?
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) While Jas is gone, I'm in charge. Why do I envision something like the "Fight for your Right" video?
  16. Awesome. Can you direct traffic to the FS message board as a temp fix? That way you could still post content for people to read at least...
  17. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 01:18 PM) CrackrockRaines, every other weak spot in the line-up is filled by a guy that has actually experienced offensive success in the major leagues, save for wherever Crede is batting on that particular day. There is a reasonable expectation that they will all hit at some point this season, again, exept for Crede. His stellar fielding doesn't make up for his .302 career on-base-percentage. All right dude, I know you are new here and all... but stop the name calling now. Its not wanted, funny, or allowed. Consider this your friendly warning.

QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) I was wondering the same thing. I guess Vanity Fair is the new standard for investigative journalism. :banghead Someone has to do it...
  19. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) Everone and their f'in "IF this happens then that should have happened"... damn, it's OVER. I can't wait until tonight so this s*** gets behind us. And a whole new list of things to second guess.
  20. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Then when IS a proper time to use AJ in that game? never? Last-man-off-of-the-bench.
  21. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) ....I swear, kids, if you don't stop it RIGHT THIS SECOND I will TURN THIS CAR AROUND!!!! I gotta remember those lines... I'll be using them soon enough.
  22. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) Steff showing Willie some [resists the urge to comment]
  23. QUOTE(I-HATE-CREDE @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Honestly, with two outs and men on 2nd 3rd, the odds of only one man scoring and pushing it into late innings are long. More likely, either zero or two runs are going to cross home plate, making the "your only other cather" arguement moot. Plus, its not like it was the second inning and you were using your only back up catcher. It was the ninth and the game was on the line. Following your logic, AJ would never had been used. AJ should have been the last man used. Its proper bench management. You don't leave yourself bare at the toughest position to play. The Sox were a wild pitch away from going to extra innings... and judging by the wildness that Scot Shields showed yesterday, it isn't that hard to imagine.
  24. QUOTE(Steff @ May 31, 2005 -> 12:40 PM) Just today... Its a new Soxtalk feature... Terrible Topic Tuesday!!!! and Wednesday, and Thursday, and Friday, and...
