  1. I wonder if this a play to try to limit his market to get the Nats to offer him another deal instead of dumping him for scraps.
  2. I want to hear more about how NLI is going to ruin college football, and not this crap. It's so ridiculous that the NCAA is so duplicitous on these things.
  3. But they didn't put up any numbers for two years and how would you know that after three years they would still be good?
  4. Out of curiosity did you want to ditch Michael Kopech because he put up 0 war in 2019 and 2020? Did you want to not resign Carlos Rodon because he put up -0.4 WAR in 2019 and 2020?
  5. He was actually the definition of average in 2021 as a hitter. He had an OPS+ of 100. Against RHP he was at 117, or 17% ABOVE average.
  6. Again, you are essentially saying we should do nothing with this logic. All of these things apply to any player. And yes if I am going to bet on a player being good, I would bet on a player who has been good in the past. That seems like a pretty simple and obvious standard, but sure.
  7. But by your own logic, we can't bring in anyone trustworthy because "past performance is not indicative of future results".
  8. So while you focus on his injury year, you ignore his previous years were 3.7, 2.7, 3.6 and 2.1 in a sixty game season.
  9. Now that is some circular logic. We all know he is hurt, and has been hurt this year. Again, that shouldn't be this confusing. Let me break this down. He also plays RF. Pollock does not/cannot. Conforto is 28. Pollock is 34. Which is more likely to recover back to their career numbers once health is resolved? Including all stats going back to 2015, Conforto still has a higher OPS, even including his injury filled 2021 where he still put up a 100 OPS + Pollock this season has put up a 70 OPS+
  10. Or, and this is really confusing so stick with me here, Sox fans want an elite OF LH bat to balance out this line up. Hopefully you followed that.
  11. Whoa, no idea it had gotten that bad.
  12. For the record, he probably doesn't play in 2022, or if he does, I wouldn't expect a contribution. I would consider this the first 2023 free agent signing.
  13. The anti-vax thing with a potential playoff match up with Toronto is a really bad fit.
  14. And of course stay out of politics only applies when the poster complaining is offended by things that they don't agree with.
  15. Soxtalk never forgets. Even when you really wish it would.
  16. Considering how many pitching injuries we have had this year, that seems short sighted.
  17. Considering his fall off happened almost exactly when the ban happened, yes.
  18. That's a lot of words for something incredibly obvious. Also not many teams could afford losing 2 middle of the order bats at key positions
