  1. It's the White Sox. They don't tell us anything unless they absolutely have to. They aren't talking about this at all which leads me to think this is a longer term thing and they don't want it in the press to affect their trade negotiations.
  2. Because they could have been much higher picks if the Sox didn't make them a draft day bonus promise.
  3. This is it right here. This is going to be a cash cow.
  4. Interesting list. Thanks for putting that all in one place.
  5. It might be all in my head, but it really feels like we are starting to make progress in Latin America away from the top guys. I don't know if it is from the new rules crushing the pricing structure to push more of the kids we want into our price range, but it really feels like something good is happening down there.
  6. In theory, assuming there are no other overages in the 10+ round range, the Sox could go to about $1.5 for Pallette and $1m for Cannon and be right against that 5%.
  7. We also get the extra 5% we can go over the total by just paying a penalty, which adds about another $300k ish.
  8. The original post is getting updated with signings and cap impacts on the bonus pool.
  9. Not sure what the last Saul episode was, but I can't believe there are only 3 episodes left to tie it all back together again.
  10. Oh I am sure he has moved on to his next insider account. It's like pulling weeds. He will pop back up soon enough.
  11. It makes we wonder if the way we do business hurts our kids trade value with the lack of hype that we really do with our minor league system.
  12. That's because we are obviously better.
  13. Here's the thing. The Sox attendance is suffering. This can go one of two ways. Either they go cheap to catch up with the lack of gate, or they figure they need to make a splash to get the fans attention. With the Tony thing and mediocre team really dampening excitement about this team, plus JR's hitching the legacy of this team to Tony, they almost have to make a move to try to save JR and Tony from themselves. Jerry has to know if Tony goes down in flames, like he has so far, it reflects on Jerry personally because HE is the one who put Tony into this job.
  14. If that is the price for a mediocre player, the Sox better sit on the sidelines during this lost season.
  15. This exactly. Someone else will pay for this.
  16. This is how a team COULD stretch him into a starter. He has never been optioned, so he could in theory do 2-3 years in the minors.
  17. I would bet on a Gallo resurgence for Pollock. The Yankees might be willing to do the same to save some prospect capital.
  18. We just did this with double the contract on Craig Kimbrel.
  19. If you are a fan of Sorvino, put Godfather of Harlem on your list. Such a spectacular show. All-star cast, great stories. Must watch if you are into the gangster theme.
