That top 5 to top 10 looks pretty solid. But the problem isn't really there, it is in the 11-30 range having no real depth, and just a bunch of low odds lottery tickets.

I mean at the end of the day, I basically spent nothing on the Sox in the last two years compared to what I typically do. I think it was one game each season, plus one playoff game. Typically I am more in the half dozen range, mostly in premium seating. Last year I did try look into buying a suite for a game last year and couldn't get the sales staff to get back to me. That money ended up basically being the down payment for a Disney Vacation Club mortgage. Their loss. At the end of the day, I am not buying anything for next season unless this team acts like I should spend money on them. If not, there are tons of other premium events I can spend my money on. And I will.

If the Sox budget it tapped, so is mine. Plenty of other things to do in Chicago next year. Zahi Hawass is doing a national speaking tour next year to start with.

This is not accurate. He waited until the next signing period because no teams had much money left in the one where he was declared a free agent. He made multiples more money by waiting to sign, not because there was some vast conspiracy to stop him from signing early.

See this is bullshit. It isn't that Sox fans don't WANT their team to spend like this, or think they CAN'T. It's that White Sox fans KNOW that this franchise WON'T spend like this, so it really could be one bad contract that fucks this franchise for a decade. Stating it like this is a slap in the face to the intelligence of White Sox fans. Just because we don't come out and give the long explanation every time that a contract is discussed doesn't mean that Sox fans don't get it.

With a team that has a ton of injury problems and exactly one capable OF, there is nothing wrong with signing an OF because there are plenty of holes, plus high odds of needing more than a few OFs because of injuries. Or... What happens if you give Colas a chance and he has a Robin Ventura like start to his career and you have no other OF depth.
