  • What is the old saying again? You're gonna win 20 and lose 140....it all depends on what you do with the other 2 games.

  • Man, our farm director really did a great job with all these guys.  Where is he these days?

This game should be wrapped up by the Braves in 5 innings, so no worries about getting it in.

Best offense against one of the worst pitchers in baseball last year……

Pedro should just email the Braves his lineup card with a note of forfeit. For the whole series.

Gotta win one sooner or later....might as well be today.

So you’re saying there’s a chance?  Will Chris Flexen flex?

The real April Fools are those of us who watch this game.

So we’re not even pitching 4 starters between Crochet starts?

Insane, right?

Grifol has already moved Fletcher down to the 9 spot

I'm hoping that they are counting on their being a weather cancelation and just have to make it look good.

Is there any internal discussion of bringing in any low cost unsigned starters / waiver claims (between $740K and $3M)?

Don't understand why Getz is so obsessed stashing early to mid 30s guys (Pillar, Grossman, Phillips, Ortega) in addition to Fletcher, Colas, Sheets, and DeLoach  for RF and a 4th OF.

Whereas they are already burning prospects and starting the clock on guys like Nastrini with four AAA starts at his highest level.

Rich Hill, Johnny Queto can likely get you 20-25 starts this year covering 100 + innings. The White Sox desperately need innings eaters just to survive the season. Why won't they add a 5th / 6th starter, especially after demoting Kopech?

0% chance he gets through this season. His start was a real bright spot and it appears they are just going to run him into the ground.

Looking forward to Reynaldo wiping out Sox hitters starting for arguably the best team in baseball, with the curveball Katz had him eliminate despite the fact it was formerly his best pitch, while relegating him to the bullpen for a team that couldn’t manage 63 wins

Chad Kuhl and Touki Toussaint are already on Charlotte's roster, so they have the waiver claim options if they want to use them.

I don't know why they would bring Nastrini up over one of those guys, or pitch Crochet on 4 days rest rather than those guys, because both of those seem like better options. Getz, however, seems to be focused on rushing guys and using them as aggressively as he can.

Chris Getz basically said as much on Pierzynskis podcast last week. AJ asked about innings limits for Crochet and I believe Getz response was “we are going to exhaust Garrett as a starter, and then we’ll see where we’re at”. Sure sounds like they plan to start him until mid-late summer and then either shut down or pen him. Such a stupid plan, but hey, can’t say I’m surprised.

Except on the position player side for guys at the age where it's produce or move on (Sosa and Lee only here due to IL stints, Colas on some extended Pedro/Getz "timeout".

Meanwhile, Vegas has less confidence in the Sox's chances against an actual good plus team, as they are + $136 getting + 1 1/2 runs, versus the $125 to $144 one had to lay for the same plus 1 1/2 runs over the weekend.

White Sox 3-0 with the run line (+ 1 1/2 Runs) this season.

  • 3/28 White Sox + 1 1/2 Runs (-125)
  • 3/30 White Sox + 1 1/2 Runs (-144)
  • 3/31 White Sox + 1 1/2 Runs (-129)

Crochet vs. Lopez will be one I'm excited to catch if it happens.

The last time the Sox opened a season with three straight one-run losses was 1972 at Kansas City if memory serves.

Can they make it four straight today?

Did Fletcher even put wood on a pitch this weekend?  He looked like he wouldn't be able to get a fungo around on low to mid 90's heaters...Woof.

Jesus fucking christ that's not what they're going to do.  It's inevitable that he's going to need a dl stint or two due to soreness/tired arm so they're letting him go now and will keep evaluating him as the season goes on.  These extereme hot takes are getting tiresome.

Being reactive to soreness and injury rather than expecting him to have some limits and being proactive about giving him extra rest or putting limits on his pitch counts early in the season is totally a questionable decision. Someone claiming that this is what they should do would be considered an extreme hot take too.

Would it be possible to limit this debate to maybe 3 threads instead of every thread?
