  1. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 05:57 PM) I agree with you SS2K5, but can't we do something about this? What if we as a board posted some things about ballpark etiquette. Maybe this board can help educate the younger generation. We can't help the casual fan here, but we can help the younger ones and they can teach their friends. I am very shocked at the posts on this board and thought that our fans had more consideration for others. I guess I was wrong. To some extent we do try to educate our fans. We just had a long thread about throwing balls back, and we have had plenty of other similar threads. I know I try to do what I can to not ruin someone elses experience, but so many people are just so self-absorbed it doesn't matter. Hopefully some of our youger ilk will read this and pick up something, but I have no doubt next time I go to the ballpark some drunk dumbass will get up 16 times to pee, because he had to have 10 beers at the ballpark. And he definatley won't care if the game is going on when the urge hits him. Its just water of my back, because I know there is no point in getting upset about it, and letting affect my day at the ballpark.
  2. Welcome to the 21st century SSI. People don't give up their seats for the elderly, cars drive in the leftlane at 50, people talk on cellphones at the movies, and not many people know what hockey rules are when it comes to seating areas at sporting events. This isn't a USCF thing, its an American society thing. It happens everywhere, everyday, and it isn't going to go away. People are inconsiderate of everyone but themselves.

  4. QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 03:03 PM) That the error was made? From the story Sounds like it was on Fox News to me.

  6. That is so awesome. Kobe got exactly what he deserved. You don't force the trade of one of the best players in the game, no matter how big your ego is.

  8. Tied 1-1 after two innings complete
  9. QUOTE(longshot7 @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 12:41 PM) What happened in the top of the 2nd where Crede was forced at second yet Pods makes it there safe? Crede was caught in a rundown, Pods hustled into 2nd behind the play.
  10. I also added the 1917 blog I found today.
  11. And plushie mascots...
  12. If that is the Bears get their pick of the top RB, and that is fine with me.
  13. http://www.local6.com/entertainment/4400956/detail.html FWIW, the vet doesn't regret what he did, even as he faces prosecution.
  14. Will the relationship Tellum and JR have, Nomar to the Sox is always a possibility. Especially since Uribe is versitle enough to play 2b or 3b. That being said, with all of our IF haveing their rights owned through at least 2006, there is not much of a chance of this happening. Frank will be our DH in 2006 and 2007.
  15. Wow, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Get well soon, Nomar.
  16. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 10:45 AM) If his knee is still screwed up, his looses a ton of loot right? Wouldn't the Tigers be all over trying to find out if it's the knee? How would he cover it up? ^^ That's exactly what I think. I really believe he hurt himself over compensating for his knee, but if Detroit could have the option to get out of that contract, you know they would be doing everything they could to do so. Even if they didn't want out of the deal, they would damn well make sure that they had the chance to do so if worst comes to worst.
  17. There is no punishment bad enough for this guy. They ought to just put this guy into general population and accounce who is he, and what he did. Problem solved.

  19. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) Wow.. just wow. What the heck happens to a kid that they find it logical to make a "death list"...?? :headshake He should have just drawn pictures of all of them with guns next to their heads.

    Damn I missed this thread. It made me realize it was time for a new avy.
  21. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:33 AM) Pitchers' duel. Sox win a 14 minute game. 2-1. Willie "Hall of Fame" Harris goes yard TWICE. M-V-P, M-V-P!!!
  22. QUOTE(ISF @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Because they weren't part of the trade. It is what it is. Those 2 players were FA signings. Each of those moves gets weighed on its own merit. Did the trade give us the flexibility in payroll to make those signings? Certainly. But that doesn't mean they had to happen. KW could have made the Lee trade, and AJP and El Duque could have signed with other teams. But without the Lee trade neither of those moves is possible.
  23. QUOTE(ISF @ Apr 21, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) I didn't want Maggs back because he is not a 14 mil player, healthy or not. Certainly not on our budget anyway. As for the Lee trade, you can't just lump AJP and Duque into that. They were nice signings, but the Lee trade itself is a minus in my book right now. If the groin has a year similar to 2 years ago and Vizcaino can be effective consistently, I may change my opinion of it. Why can't you lump them together? The only reason we could sign those two players was because of the money we saved from the Carlos Lee trade. If there is no trade, there is no AJ or Hernandez. The three things are linked at the hip.
