*sniff, sniff*- 2005 Hall of Fame ballots
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6609156/ I'd be curious who people would vote for?- Why not go after Beltran?
The Marlins spent and won? Then the Sox should be in great shape because the Sox payroll in 2003 was higher than the Marlins... http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/...03/salaries_ap/ Also on the Diamondbacks, they are basically teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. They have $300 million in debt. And on the Sox losing Maggs... They also picked up Contreras and Garcia, who for 2005 are going to add up to about $14 million. Maggs money has been spent.- Why not go after Beltran?
Just give me sometime...- Why not go after Beltran?
I've got 200 million reasons why the Sox won't go after Beltran...- Sox in hunt for Nomar?
I honestly believe that is a difference between organizational philosophies and their relationship to the local media. The Red Sox trash their big name players when they look to leave, and the Boston media feeds off of it. In Chicago, the Sox get blamed for everything, so even if Maggs is a nutcase, the Sox get bashed for not resigning him, wereas in Boston, all of his escapades would be front page news, and everyone would hate him.- Sox in hunt for Nomar?
One big difference, is Nomar never stood in front of the media and lied, or called his organization a bunch of liars, while he was the one in fact lying. Or had a secret surgery arranged in another country to hide the procedure.... You could compare the attitudes maybe, but the actions are completely different.- Stem Cell Research helps paralyzed woman walk.
Wow, quality stereotyping...- Sox in hunt for Nomar?
Good insight. It has got to be a wake up call when the only organization you have ever known basically tries to get rid of you.- Sox in hunt for Nomar?
I see.- Sox in hunt for Nomar?
You won't hear it either. It is another Red Sox hatchet job, just like they did to Everett.- Blue Jays buy SkyDome

A million dollar contract isn't going to affect what we do with our more pressing needs. I would welcome the addition of Blanco for many of the reasons already stated, but most importantly his defense and throwing ablities.- Kap, How's the new house?
